How are you measuring it?
Same as in the Supra, with the sensor in the car. No pop ups or warnings, nothing.

I honestly think the oil issue was a bit overblown thanks to forums like this. Still it might have been a small batch of engines with improper oil piston rings or something.

Does anyone with 2022 has reported this issue yet?

Got the oil notification today. Drove 2600 after buying the car (there was an oil change by the dealer @4900 miles). I suppose this is ok? Date of First Use — May 24, 2021.

You seem to be within spec. I think if you consume more than I litre per 1,500 miles, you might have a problem. Do you drive the car aggressively non stop? That can consume more oil. My consumption has slowed down after 12,000miles on the odometer. These cars are know to consume oil. The Porsche Caymans, and the Boxers consume as well. I worked at Ford, and Mustangs also consume oil (GT350's)
Aggressively - just a few times a week. So not really.

They might have slightly under-filled. The electronic dipstick is not that accurate. I got the add oil message last year, and I only added 3/4 quart, and it showed full again.

By the way, what are the recos for oil top up? I have no idea what the dealer used during last oil change.

If it was a Toyota dealership, the GR Supra 0-20 oil they sell, you can find it online too. If from a used car dealer, call them and ask.

I hope the TSB is coming soon, oil consumption is getting worse every month that passes.
As it has gotten hotter I’ve been burning oil FAST. Gonna just say fuck it and do my next oil change with 5w-30

I just did my oil yesterday. When I did an oil level check beforehand, it had finally dropped down one notch in the readout, but not low enough for the warning to add more oil. 4800 miles since last change, running on 5W30. Seems well within expectations for a BMW turbo engine.

How was your consumption prior to using 5w30?
