New here. I currently have a 2013 Toyota Prius, the least engaging car ever. I’m single, rarely have a passenger other than my dog.
I can get about $10k for it with 52,000 miles. I can’t afford a new Supra and the few used I’ve seen are the same price as new.
Dilemma: Do I hold onto the Prius a couple more years and hope the price of the used Supras come down, or do I go for the new GR86?
Just curious what you guys think?

I think you should wait until your older, have a nice house with garages, steady good paying career, and then worry about the Supra. IMO You don’t want to spend everything you have on a car.

Wait for the used market to correct and keep saving. Even with the new GR, dealers will likely want MSRP for awhile and then prices will likely drop after the first year.

I’m 60 and live in an apartment. No plans to buy a house.

Enjoy the San Diego weather with a Z4 roadster instead? Easier to get in/out, less aggressive on throttle..

Nevermind. The way you were posting, it sounded like you were a young adult and just getting into the career field. My bad.

Buy a GR86. Life is short, it's going to be a fantastic car and much cheaper to both maintain and own. If you get the itch to up the power slap a Turbo kit on it or trade it.

All this keep the Prius talk is making me throw up in my mouth. ???

Look into a slightly used Miata hard top convertible. Get the 19+ with the revised motor. Really fun car, affordable, and tons of mods to build from. I had an 18 club with an exhaust, tune, and coilovers and that car was a blast. I also owned a 13 BRZ Limited that was modded and I would take the ND Miata all day long.

If it's in your budget, I'd maybe look at a 2.0 Supra. You also can't go wrong with a used Miata or a BRZ/86 (avoiding anything modded).

I had no trouble getting in. Getting out gracefully was the problem. Luckily, no one saw.? Every car I’ve owned since I was 16, except 3 ,have been Toyotas

That’s the one I was interested in.
