Covered the knob centers with artificial leather

I covered the radio volume, start stop, 2 control knobs, and 12 volt cover knobs with artificial leather. I used the same covering on the brace bar across the hatch area, covered the visor warning stickers and aluminum door sills.

Why would you cover that portion in the picture. It's a track pad. Wouldnt the fake leather reduce sensitivity
