Does turning off fake engine noise also de-energize the exhaust valve?

It seems as if once the fake engine noise is turned off, there is no change in idle sound when Sport mode is turned on.
Is that normal?

I unplugged mine. Valve works fine
Thanks, Bryan and Chris. I did read a post about this, just now, and there was mention that the burbles and pops sound while in Sport mode is diminished when the fake sound is turned off. Previously, when I started my car in Sport mode, the exhaust sound was louder from inside the car. Apparently, some of that sound was amplified before the coding was done.

FWIW - Thanks for asking. I just unplugged mine and noticed the interior growls are a little quieter.

And I checked my tires... no cracks! Whew! :p

I turned off fake sound via coding. Exhaust sound still changes when I switch between normal and sport modes.

Thanks. I guess I should place my phone near the valved side, and record the external-only sound difference after hitting the Sport button. My original assumption was that only the Sport mode "generator-like" sound was piped into the cabin during full throttle application.

Essentially, I thought the exhaust was louder than it is. Perhaps a stainless steel or titanium cat-back will be put on the mod list.

if you want to be that sound-obsessed, cruise at 80 mph with ASD on vs ASD off. it's tons better with it off, more comfortable i would say. with it on, it's like an extra pressure in the cabin. terrible

I typically cruise in normal mode. It seems that ASD isn't nearly as intrusive when the engine speed is low. And maybe it's just my perception, but when I am cruising in Normal mode, then punch the gas pedal, acceleration seems to be better than when in Sport mode with ASD turned on.

Dude, that makes no sense. You are saying that the fake noise slows the car down? Just trying to clarify.
