Hey everyone,

After a lot of back and forth, I decided to sell my Exocet to a good friend of mine, that I happen to do track days with. It’s was an absolute blast—lightweight, raw, and just ridiculous fun on track. It started as a really clean 94 Miata that I hated to tear apart but did and then turbocharged.

My buddy, a fellow Miata guy, had been eyeing the Exocet for a while, so it’s going to a good home. Plus, it’ll be cool to still see it on track and maybe even go head-to-head with it once I get the Supra dialed in. Here is me and him.

As far as the Supra goes, my 9 year old son is obsessed with them and always says “is that a Supra?!” everytime we would see one. He didn’t know I reserved one and the dealership was kind enough to put a sold sign in the windshield with his name on it when we “went to look at cars”.

Anyone here made a similar move from something ultra-lightweight to a bigger, turbocharged car? Would love to hear your thoughts on the transition, setup tips, or anything I should watch out for. Have a free cosmetic things on the way, Eibach euro springs here, and PPF scheduled.

awww that made my heart melt - my son is 12 and is obsessed with the Supra, I like to involve him in anything with cars when I can.

Did you get it on video when he saw his name on the SOLD ticket? How did he react???

Another note on the Eibach springs, some folks had commented in the past that they are too soft for track work....

we didn’t get a video, at least that my wife showed me, but got a bunch of pictures. He was super pumped, didn’t understand why we couldn’t just take it and go.

Yeah, it is just to hold me over until coilovers. Also don’t know if they will fit with 18x10 and 275s square.

Hello, friend. Welcome to the club. Went from a stripped turbocharged brz to the supra. Supra is a much different animal. Happy to chat any time about barber setups.

Dude I would love to chat about initial modifications and where to start. I’m pretty sure you track with JZilla, your car and seeing it out there is one of the things that pushed me to the Supra.

Oh also, get an alignment after you get the coils in - the alignment on many of these cars is goofy from the factory.

I see you had an LS1 GTO as well, I had an 04 and 06 - was big on LS1GTO.com for a long time - really miss those cars :(

You need coilovers for big front tires. Stock perches are just too wide, and you're either hitting the perch or the fender.

Unfortunately parts and consumables for these cars are 3-5x the cost of Miata/exocet parts 🤦😂🙈

Yeah I haven’t been on there in a long time. Still have the car though!

Oof. not anymore after some BS happened at Exofest, which I'm pretty sure I flew by you in the carousel.

But yeah, slide into my DMs here. Happy to help where I can.
