Ok im so confused or feel tricked in some way. So im watching a review on a 2021 supra and i just bought a 2020 supra and in the review talks about this that and those are all the same and then he mentions about how the fake engine noises coming from the speakers is the same from the previous years. Wtf is there really noise coming from the speakers? Can someone clarify this for me?

I mean the stock exhaust on the 2020 in my opinion is a little bit better than the 2021s but but the 2020 and 2021 are both a little bit more loud than most normal cars.

On those forums there have been people very happy with turning off the fake engine noise but I personally happy with the current setup.

It's on speakers because they tend to make cars more soundproof now so they want to give the engine sound in the car. Lots of cars do it
Ok so to make it louder inside the car only? So outside is still loud? Also if i go with a aftermarket exhaust will it be to loud inside the car?

There's a limit what sound deadening will do but versus older or lower end cars yeah probably.

So is it a sound tube going into the fire wall from the engine bay connected to the cold air intake or something else. Just trying to understand this setup.

It's in speakers. you can turn it off with bimmercode.

Here is a description on how ASD operates....

You can disable ASD using Bimmercode (see video below)...

In general, heres some reasons why people turn off ASD:
  1. they dont like the thought of fake engine noise inside the car
  2. It lowers the audio quality. Some(audiophiles) may notice this more while others dont at all.
Reasons why people turn it back on:
  1. It's too quiet inside the car now and dont want to do an aftermarket exhaust.

Its technically not fake right? Its the sound of the engine just transmitted into the speakers or is it just really a different engine noise then ours?

Im not sure if this a thing with the supra but one way to test ASD is drive at a constant rpm of about 2.5-3k and toggle between sport and comfort mode. The difference in engine noise is the ASD doing it's thing

The noise is entirely synthetic. It's generated by a DSP, not derived from the real sound from the engine. It is fake.
