Well after a lot of searching and from a thread on this forum .. i purchased a set of working hood vents...

Well they arrived quick ( to the UK ) very well packaged and via FedEX and look great

whats makes these my choice.

1. I dont like Carbon Fibre when i haven't got any on outside of vehicle
2. I dont like "stick on " ones
3. They look oem .. material and fit

Very professional !!

I have been looking and waiting for a solid option here. I have some carbon but I just dont like stick on versions of these that add alot of "bulk".

Looks good!

well obviously the OEM blanked off ones ingress some water (see pic with dirty marks under vent) .. but it does drain out.

BTW heat dispersal is not the reason that i wanted them .. mine was that a blanked off bonnet vent seemed a little pointless and i was fed up of everyone pointing this one out to me at events.

It now looks OEM !!

as for heat dispersal the Bernoulli effect when driving should suck hot out from the hood or engine bay ...and certainly better than a BLANKED OFF one.

And the good thing is that unlike the STUCK ON vent alternatives i can swap these back to stock in winter !!

Water build up wouldn't matter, the engine bay gets wet from the under tray gaps and primary anyways. IIRC from cfd that part of the hood is in a high pressure zone, so possible for air to enter the engine bay vs exit.

Mine are the CF stuck on like a snot ones per OP. I stopped driving my Supra in its entirety in the winter cause I can't remove the snot stuck one's off my car no more.

There are multiple threads about functional hood vents. @zrk smoke tested it i believe and yielded no results. I mentioned that at speed, the vent may be somewhat functional but can only be tested either wind tunnel or thermal cam while at freeway speed.

I would've gotten this one if I didn't have CF M style mirror caps, CF spoiler, CF diffuser, and CF wrapped Maxton lip kit. Plus my wheels is a CF type gray color so I'm getting the Supra Star variants tomorrow.

I'm not knocking the quality and fit of the CF ones
