Just noticed yesterday that my Supra’s leather seats are starting to show some wear. One particular spot already has small pieces missing. This is at exactly 350 miles. For those who drive this car a lot, how are your seats looking?

Yeah pretty much at the crotch.

As far as I can remember, I’ve only worn sweats-like pants so softer materials and this still happened. I guess it’s an easily worn spot.

From the beginning I thought the quality of the leather seats was kinda low. The leatherette (vinyl) in my ‘07 Jetta was nicer than this stuff.

The controls in the passenger seat stopped working. I have to take it in to get fixed.

How’s your passenger seat? Mine doesn’t get a lot of use so still no missing pieces.

Yeah, for the price, it’s kind of disappointing.

Passenger seat looks the same as the driver’s seat. My wife rides shotgun with me almost all the time.

Wow, that's a bummer. Just from the picture alone, it looks like low a quality and thin grain. It looks like Toyota and BMW went budget on the Supra to reduce costs. Now things like are starting to emerge.

Ok I was wondering if it was only me lol. The leather feels like vinyl/rubber, they may as well have put that in here to save money at this point. I wonder how hard it would be to reupholster with nicer leather given the air bags and other sensors embedded with the seat?

Does anyone know definitively what parts of the interior are actually leather? I know the seats and steering wheel but are the other parts that look leather (dash, door armrest, center armrest, etc.) actually made from leather?

I don’t think it would be hard for a shop that deals with modern cars to re-skin the seats. At one point a forum member was selling the red skins from the LE cars. Seems very do-able

Yea I noticed this on my drivers seat too, although it’s a bit less. Same wear is also starting on the pass get side, funny thing is that only my gf has sat there - she usually wears some sort of yoga pants or shorts. Pretty ridiculous for a new car. Current mileage: 34xx

I was actually wondering the same thing.
