Hey all, earlier I was scouring the forums for info on what TPMS to buy for my TS-5s and saw some conflicting/inconclusive info. I hope this post helps to provide one example of a new set of TPMS that works with our cars.
Long story short, I was lazy and didn't want to get another person/car involved when mounting tires to the new wheels since fitting all of those into the Supra is just not going to happen. So instead I purchased a TPMS set off eBay and took a chance on these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/4x-New-TPM...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
I was shipped a tiny box containing four 42607-WAA02 sensors and handed them over to my local Discount Tire when they mounted my tires. I went home, installed the wheels, and drove around for a bit. The car never needed any kind of programming to recognize the new TPMS set. It began reading temps and pressures right away, but did alert me that it did not recognize the new tire sizes and asked me to specify them, but "other tires" was the only applicable option for me.
Hope this helps others trying to purchase TPMS for new wheels. They definitely are not worth $90/piece or even $280/piece as I've seen on some sites. Just send an offer to the seller for $105 (or try lower) and wait a week or two for them to arrive.
