So the air box has multiple intake silencers. If we get someone to build us some block offs I think it would really help with the sounds we as enthusiasts like to hear. I know it wouldn't be very hard and I may look around and see what I can find around the house. What do you guys think?

So the silencer on the air box is an easy one. I found an expansion plug(rubber style) that will fit right into the opening.
1 3/4 to 1 7/8 expansion plug made by dorman.

Not sure I’m following. I removed the charcoal filter in the intake but wasn’t aware there were anything else that could be done to mod it.

There is two intake silencers. One on the air box itself and the other is in the intake pipe.

Just there to silence the air box. Less turbo noise. Performance is unaffected. Figured it was a solution to the burger open filter that some do for sound. Which has been found to lose HP due to hot incoming air.

Is there a noticeable difference in the sound?

I'm not sure yet. Still breaking the car in. I will do some full throttle pulls stock then mod and repeat then report back.

Oooooh, this thread makes us excited to release our next project! ;)

With that being said, we just released our high flow drop-in panel air filter last week!

We do not like to compare to competitors.

Our filters are constructed of double-layer woven cotton for optimal filtration while also maintaining optimal airflow, unlike other manufacturers' filter media. This construction also allows for easy cleaning / maintenance. Also, our filters are manufactured using a four-step, low-pressure injection molding process to bond the rubber to the interior components, which virtually eliminates rubber seepage and promotes maximum airflow. We've used this filter construction over the years with great success in our record setting intake systems. :)

The stock setup *IS* a cold air intake. This is why cone filters have seen reduced performance.
