Hello Everyone,

I’ve compiled a list of 19 available 2021 Supras that don’t have the Bosch lock hardware. These cars can be tuned and were manufactured between March-May of 2020.

It’s getting harder to find these early built 2021 models for tuning. I prefer not to put future owners VIN’s on blast so please send me a PM for the list. This is only for cars available in the US.

Typically, how different might the order date and the manufacture date be?

I called 35 dealerships for the build dates to compare against the order dates when I was looking for mine. Every build date was within 1-2 months of the order date. So for all cars with an 03/2020 order date its pretty safe to say they are before the 06/01/2020 ECU cutoff date.

For the 04/2020 order date cars you will need to pull the ECU to verify. Some of these cars are too close to the 06/01/2020 cutoff.

Just for a point of reference mine shows order date of 5/20, door jam shows 6/20 build date, and an actual ECU date of 5/25/20.

You just made it, one more week and no DME Bench Unlock for you. These earlier built cars will be sought after in years to come if that hardware security chip cant be hacked.

Guess my ecu is probably unlocked?
Have pulled it to check...

I just bought a new 2021 on Friday, it has a build date of 3/20. The dealership had a few other Supras on the lot that had been sitting just as long as this one had and probably have similarly early build dates. All at Larry H Miller Toyota in Boulder, CO.

My 21 was tuneable with a 6/20 door stamp

Just purchased a tunable 2021. vin ending in 035295. This supra had a dealer order date of 3/20 on the window sticker, 6/20 build date on the door and an ECU with date code 3/12/20.

Nice, glad you could get one. They’re getting harder to find. I will remove that one from my list. ?

At this point any tuning is out until we determine if my car has an oil consumption issue...
