Guys,

I am sure i am the only one here who got their car all scratch up during delivery process.

Unfortunately the driver scratch the back bumper during unloading...

Feeling Really bumped now and my excitement went from north to south in a heartbeat.

Car was fantastic but this crushed my dream to bring it home today.

Dealer is trying to fix the bumper and they wont give me new bumper.

Hope the jinx stay with me.

Considering this is a new thing for toyota..i dont even know when i can get my car done up properly

fuck that. i'd be pushing for a new car. you don't pay RRP (or above in the US case) for something with a replaced (let alone repaired) bumper

Don't pay for it, go find another Supra. This is the dealer's problem now, not yours.

You should let your dealer fix the bumper scratches, but, also, negotiate with them to see if you could get some sort of compensation for your time and hardship... Say... a TRD Ground Effects Kit for free (lol jk). Or, at least a free oil change or two.:dunno: Or, a different Supra as mentioned above, but I’m sure that’d just end up being additional time and headache for ya.

You'd be amazed at what the bumper guys can do. That doesn't look like the end of the world. Let the dealer repair it. If it doesn't look as good as new then don't take it. Simple.

Hi,
I'm sorry this happened. It sucks.

Unfortunately, if you only knew how often this happens and is repaired at the port you would freak out. The numbers are staggering, they have paint repair and everything else at the port for this very reason. I found out one of my Porsches had the roof re-sprayed at the port. Even as a lawyer who huffed and puffed there was little I could do after my detailer informed me and later confirmed.

The good news is the damage is minor, a good shop will be able to blend it and make it look great.

Some suggestions.

I always try and make lemonade out of lemons. Perhaps have them remove your mirror caps and have them color matched at the same time. It would look awesome and that is a big plus for free. If there is anything else you can imagine you would like color matched now is the time.

When you pick up the car pick it up around 3 or 4pm, you want to see how well the blend was done under different light. Bring a flashlight look to see if it blends properly. I have not seen that color yet but make sure it was done correctly at every angle.

Best of luck.

Seriously, he doesn't own the car, he doesn't need to even debate about the pros/cons or try to make the best of the situation.

Yes. But reading his reply he doesn't want to also go " car shopping" again in a world filled with insane dealers and limited inventory at the moment. But, I agree he has leverage.

wow, i'm really sorry to hear that. I'm a little surprised corporate wasn't of much help, but then again it all depends on the situation I suppose.
