I’m doing downpipe, cold air intake, and tune. Will charge pipe or intake pipe provide further power gains or other benefits that make these worthwhile investments?

problem is our current charge pipes are plastic and have had issues failing previously on high boost. The cost to get an aftermarket one isn't too much and if you aren't pushing serious amounts of boost you will probably be ok for the time being.

Most of the ones that have failed are on previous iteration of the b58 which had a different charge pipe design. The newer revision on the Supra and z4 is a bit more substantial so you'll probably be fine for a while unless you're pushing alot of boost.

For those mods, it wouldnt be necessary at this time especially since the parts are still newer. For Stage 2, It appears the only benefits from a new charge pipe are available meth bungs and cosmetic looks.

Great, thanks for the feedback!

Edit: Speed Industry explanation and install. They also state more for aesthetics and reliability

I have seen the charge pipe fail a few times but I do not have enough data to make a decision on whether it's necessary to upgrade the CP when tuning your car yet. Skip it for now, you can always add it in the future

Looking at how the charge pipes have a flex joint and comparing it to lets say the fixed plastic S55 charge pipes I would say its a lot more durable

Definitely with an upgraded turbo for peace of mind

I would go with bladerunner intercooler tube hot side from AFE Power. I have the FTP charge pipe with intake pipe and i switched to bladerunner intercooler tube.

Aren't they both pipes with similar dimensions?

Why did you switch?

I've installed FTP Charge Pipe, looks great. Had a bit of trouble getting the screws back in, I heard they are 1 time use is that right? As in a new screw is needed once removed from the block.
