welcome mate, funny seeing you here
My GF and I were looking for a project car together and tossed a bunch of ideas for a while on what car to get. We looked at a FDs, tossed around the idea of a Porsche, S2k, NSX, and everything in between. When the final release of the MKV came out we were certain this is the car we’re going to get.
She was in the 86 community and I’m from the Lexus community. I hope that this community will be a very nurturing community.
Here’s her widebody frs before she sold it and my IS350
I've been lurking on this forum for a long time. Finally decided to join after seeing the reveal of the A90. Definitely want to buy one in the near future, hoping for a manual option first and foremost. I've been a Toyota loyalist for a long time. Growing up my parents owned many Toyotas and it continued with me. I've had and driven other makes but still ended up with a yota. The cars I've owned were a first gen. Tundra, third gen. 4Runner, and now a Lexus RC 350 which will be trade bait for a Supra .
Mark Brown here...I joined recently to see the progress of the new MKV and here we are today. I do like the styling and will try to go see it in person at the headquarters this weekend if its open.
I am an OG MKIV Supra guy... not sure what to think yet...im staying very open minded though...need a 6 speed !!!
This is me in my hayday...
My name's Rick, and I like to go fast.
Lurked the site for a good while. Just joined. Bought my '87 Mk3 new in December '86. Was in the Navy at the time and spent all of my reenlistment bonus on the car. Recently gave the car to my son-in-law. Has 127,000 miles on it. He is working on bringing her back to her glory.
I have my eyes set on the MkV and am 1st on the waiting list at a local dealer. Recently sold my Cayman S (not because of the MkV) so am ready to move into something else.
New to the forum, I'm openly declaring that I'm a fanboy of this car and am on a "list". Mostly a motorcycle guy, I've always gotten my performance "fix" from bikes. Cars have been transportation device for me. Till the new Supra unveiled last week, that is.... This car checks the boxes for me that I've always wanted in a car. I say this, because I've rotated through 20 bikes throughout the past 40+ years. It took that long to finally find my "forever" bikes. They are a Triumph Street Triple and a Honda 230L. Therefore, this car is going in the garage for good and will never leave. I'm that confident of it. Thanks for listening.
Been waiting a while since the FT-1 for the Supra to return. Will be getting the Supra once it comes out (waitlist with Longo). Currently drive the 2018 Camry has a stepping stone to be pushed towards my dream car.
Hey, I'm Michael. Currently driving a (formerly supercharged) 86. Planning on selling it, and picking up the new Supra as soon as possible. Actually had the sales manager call me today. Think he thought I was just a tire kicker, instead of someone who's actually going to buy one. Apparently I'm first on their list, and I'll take it in whatever color they get in.
New to the Supra thread, not new to cars. Typically I bought older cars as I love to work on them: H1, S2000, M5, 650i, FBO 335i, a few Land Cruisers, etc...and they have already depreciated.
A buddy of mine, who works at a dealership, let me know he could get me a Supra if I wanted want as MSRP, that is all it took, I am #1 on the list.
As a child the Supra was an awesome car but way to expensive, the planets aligned in this case and I am eagerly awaiting my new ride.
Sold my M5 a few months ago and am ready for another quick car!
Looking forward to being a part of the forum.
I just joined this forum to gather some more information about the upcoming supra. Been shopping around to look for a second sports car that I can use as my primary race / track toy.
Looking forward in the upcoming months in possibly joining the ranks.
Hey everybody. So happy to join! I look forward to participating here and meeting fellow enthusiasts in person.
I've been commenting on this site for a couple of months, watching for about 6. I had a 93 RX7 when I was 18 (came into some money, and did the smart/stupid thing, went out and bought a sports car), bought off the showroom floor, the envy of all my friends I had to sell it after 3 years to pay for university, but have wanted another car like that ever since, and have been waiting for the Japanese manufacturers to offer one. I didn't have a Supra, and so I have no preconceived biases, and I'm very happy with the new Supra. I was in fact thinking about buying an M2 2 years ago, but held off because I wanted something more like my RX7. So the BMW partnership doesn't bother me at all. I'm very excited for the Supra, and have a deposit on one at my local Toyota dealership, first in line.
Been lurking for months while news of the MKV Supra develops. Finally decided to join yesterday. Been on the hunt for a new sports car since selling my '17 MX-5 RF last October. Test drove a 718 Cayman base PDK (didn't like it at all), a M2 Competition DCT (loved it), and a used OG M2 DCT (surprisingly didn't like it overall). Given my love of Japanese sports cars and my new found appreciation of BMW I'm really interested to experience the new Supra. I'm sure I'll have to wait a long time before any dealer would allow a test drive.
Here's a list of some of the sports and sporty cars I've owned:
'86 RX-7, '91 MR2 Turbo, '08 Mazdaspeed3, '12 MX-5 PRHT, '17 MX-5 RF, '17 VW GTI (current)
I'm Chris and I'm new to the forum. I currently have a 2016 Nissan GT-R and a 2014 Ferrari 458. I have a A90 on it's way from Toyota as we speak. I worked with Toyota OEM on a partnership program to guarantee me a single digit vin and the first Supra in the midwest. I also have the first Rocket Bunny / Pandem kit in the world outside the prototypes Toyota bought for their drift team. It's currently sitting in my garage patiently waiting for the car to get here. I'm sponsored by Big Boost Turbo and will be pushing the B58 motor to it's limits pretty quickly. Beyond that I have forged internals from Carrillo already in my hands and am going for the fastest most powerful B58 A90 in the world. I look forward to meeting you all and sharing what we're doing and seeing what you guys are all doing. Thanks for having me!
