My May '19 build vehicle shows the recall as well... Could mean maybe all are affected? Or maybe a certain supplier or something..

I saw some internal doc listing that the ecu update recall applies to some 13,000 2020-2021 MY Supras so you just confirmed that's indeed the case.

Yup, I am on it as well. We are all screwed. Anybody confirm what braking assist are they talking about? And what are they talking about engine start with damage the braking system? Almost sounds like they wanna lock everybody’s ecu. Lol

Definitely sounds like a trap
Yea came here to say that. My question is, will you be able to skip this? I know that with certain recalls, you won't be able to renew yr registration until it's verified fixed. If this is the case, it's def their way of locking all those earlier ecu's that were tuneable...

Question 5 on that document, suggests that yes they will find you via dmv document record. It may require a fix before possible renewing since it is explicitly talking about dmv records. Hmm

Getting ahead of myself, BUT if that were the case, you could ask for that "replaced" ecu back then have it reinstalled after the recall is done. Hmmmmmm

That is standard practice to reach out to owners

Also, my understanding is new ECU's have hardware lock... Not software. Doesn't mean it can't be locked but let's differentiate.

Remedy seems like a no brainer... Who is double clicking on the start button?? (If not for 3 for diagnostics)

I never heard of this. But that would stink if that’s the case.
