Has anyone with a catless downpipe Had to go for yearly inspection yet? I’m stage two BM3 and wondering if there’ll be issue passing inspection in NY.

Depends on what they do. If they do sniffer test you're fucked.

Why is there an inspection on a brand new car already? What’s happening in NY? I know I’m from a neighboring state but we don’t have to do anything for years after getting a new car.

NY is every year even new.

It's an OBD2 & visual inspection for modifications. Catless car should fail both, Catted may come down to the diligence of the inspector.

Every year? That’s definitely nuts.

A lot of states do this, not really that crazy.
I've lived in NJ, NV, FL and NH and haven't heard of this. I think NH has something similar but I kept my NJ registration since NH had some backward calculation for registration (unlike 75 bucks in NJ). Guess it's not that common. It's a waste of time requiring new cars to be inspected every year - at least to me it is.
