Hello everyone, I am a newbie to supra forum. Ive been thinking a lot about buying the supra lately. So, I did a lot of research on the MKV. I was going to buy one until I saw the news about the 2021. So I want to ask you guys, all the supra professionals out there. Should I wait for it? I have came up with a list of disadvantages and advantages for buying it now vs later. But still, I cant decide on my own. So I want to hear all of your opinions on this. Thank you very much

Depends what matters to you more I guess. But you could probably get a better deal on the 2020 models now so could work out better that way

If you can negotiate price on a 2020 with the knowledge of 2021 changing then i would probably go for it for buy now. If you are ok to wait and play the waiting game to see what happens in terms of MSRP price possibly going up then do that. Also i guess if there is a certain color that you want that may not be available in 2021. Downshift Blue and Phantom Matte Gray i believe are not available in 2021

I suggest you wait until the 21 hit the lot. Leftover 20 will be available and i'm sure you can get a deal.

I'm on same boat as you, was looking to pick up a LE once I relocate to STL but now with '21 specs, I'll wait to see their prices and what dealers offer for leftover 20s. I'm not looking for something to make major power on, just simple bolt ons, tune, wheels and drop. So unsure if it's worth waiting and paying more for a '21 vs '20 in few months.

As long as you don’t care about the color I would wait til the summer when the dealers are trying to move 2020s out of their lots. Then snag one for cheap.

Thank you all for replying, I think I could possibly get one for very good deal right now. Thats why I am asking. I dont know how much it is gonna be for the 21s that is why I am waiting. Some sources say it will be 50k range again. Some say it will be cheaper since there will be 2.0. Some say 60k.

If you get a deal that you believe is good and you are happy with it and the car color choice and options then that's really all that matters at the end of the day.

There's a dealer in my area that already had 3 Supras listed for about $3,800 under sticker for the last month now. Curious to see how soon that may drop even further now. I also just noticed that another dealer in my area that's been trying to sell a couple for $10k over MSRP just dropped them to MSRP.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. But the 50 more horsepower and upgraded suspension and engine really get me. But I also ask myself that do I really need that extra 50HP. I am in the middle

Also, I was thinking buying it now and wait until the 21 comes out like for few months then trade the 20 in for it if I can get some good deal on it

i personally wouldn't buy 20 and then trade for 21. If your going to do that, then just lease the car and wait for 2022/23. If your set on 2020 shoot for 10% off MSRP and see what they come back with. The 5k or so you save that you can invest in parts can easily push MY2020 performance past that of MY2021. The only question for 2021 i have is the tuning part for the suspension. Cusco brace bar in the front for $300 or less will tighten up the feeling of handling but i am curious how those other changes would feel compared to 2020.

I agree. Toyota is really good at kicking their customers in the balls. It is so hard to decide. But I will need a new car soon.

Not just Toyota. I think all car companies that are looking to make profit for themselves and shareholders will do it.
