Hey folks - just got one of my local dealers here in Vegas to lower a TRD Sport 4x4 Premium to 47.5k from 54.5k. Issue is the color is my 3rd choice and there isn't anything local in my first 2 colors and Underground, my 3rd choice, doesn't hurt my feelings at all - I do like gray.
Just interested if this is/was similar what others are seeing.

Appreciate the info!

Was that off the MSRP or did it have ADM? I don't think dealers are going to drop 8k off MSRP unless they don't want to be in business much longer. They are losing several thousand even with holdback at that price.

52.8k is MSRP they added dealership crap like tint, door edge guards 1 yr tires warranty blah blah at $1600! and won't budge from it. So after all that it comes out to be just under 54.5k and will come down to 47.5k. No aftermarket markup no

So I'm not saying your wrong but I think the dealer is BS ing you. To put it in perspective the picture below is of my Limited that was a dealer trade. The MSRP was $55,687. As you can see from the dealer trade sheet the invoice price less the 2%, 1% (holdback) which the dealer gets from Toyota after the sale is $51,191 for a difference of $4496.

Your deal if the MSRP is really $52,800 would be roughly a $5300 discount which is well below their holdback number.

I don't know of any Toyota dealer that would sell you a truck below there holdback number. It wouldn't make any sense because they would be losing money. It just doesn't happen. They would let you walk all day before agreeing to that.

The only exception is if Toyota was offering dealer incentives to further decrease the true dealer cost. Toyota as of now isn't offering factory to dealer incentives on Tacoma's. I would say this. If what your saying turns out to be true I would be there when they open and buy the truck because that dealer is a fool.

You can build the truck out on the Toyota site and see that their TSRP matches the built price from Toyota of $52,794. If you're in Nevada I think you're paying 8+% in taxes so pretty easy to get back to $53,500 from $47,500 with tax, title, license and any extras you buy or little fees they sprinkle in.

Just ask for itemized pricing before you walk into finance (this should be sticker - the discount + tax, title, license + any dealer addons/fees) and then track the numbers as you go through finances sales pitches.

$5294 off MSRP is doing great if it is really true.

Remember if you are financing through them they will make up on the back end (Finance office) what they loose on the front end (Sales floor).
