Today marks 1 year of ownership for me (approximately 13k miles), so I figured it would make sense to do a quick build log and some of my learnings with the car:

Installed parts/mods (no particular order):
  • PPF
  • Ceramic coat
  • JB4
  • AA catted DP
  • Verus turbo heat shield
  • MST intake V2 with clear lid
  • Cusco strut brace
  • Verus windshield, gas, oil, and coolant caps in blue
  • Eventuri CF engine cover
  • Titanium engine dress up kit
  • Rexpeed gloss CF coolant cover
  • CF ECU cover
  • Rexpeed V2 lip spoiler
  • RK Titanium ECU cover plate
  • Raceseng tow hook w/ GoPro mount
  • A91 vinyls
  • Blacked-out vinyls to cover the reflectors
  • OEM wheels powdercoated gloss black, and calipers powdercoated red (added Brembo vinyls on them)
  • Bimmercoded
Ordered/have but not yet installed:
  • A/S Continental DWS06s for winter use
  • Titan7 TS-5 19" wheels for summer use
  • aFe sway bars front & rear
  • RK Titanium charge pipe
  • KW DDC coilovers
  • ZL1 rock guards
On my wishlist:
  • CSG brake pads
  • Wider PS4Ss or Cup 2s for the coming year for spirited canyon carving and some track work between the Ridge, Pacific Raceways, and maybe PIR
  • Titanium exhaust
  • Better quality A91 stripes, since the Grafixpression set I got isn't very well cut
  • Replace the OEM tower brace
  • anti-gravity battery
  • control arms
  • replace the OEM steering wheel
  • unlocked ECU and tune (only if I'm going big turbo or if/when costs come down)
  • diffuser/splitter/sideskirts (or an Aimgain body kit)
I did a couple of track days at some local racetracks last year, and absolutely loved the experience, so I'm definitely leaning into improving lap times, but given I live in a condo with one assigned parking spot, I do want to keep the car fairly usable as a daily should the need arise, so I'm sticking with pump gas and streetable tires that can take decent wear -- nothing on the lines of ethanol, which is hard to get in WA, or hardcore track tires.

There's been quite a lot of adventures I've had over the last year, and quite a lot I've learned. Some miscellaneous thoughts:
  • The car is a massive eye-catcher and conversation starter. Thumbs up from all sorts of car owners from BRZs to F12TDFs, shouts of: "Nice car!", "IS THAT A SUPRA?!?!" or "Rev it!" in the city, people who ask about it at: gas stations, red lights, grocery stores, and occasionally teenagers who want to race. It also gets a lot of love at car shows as well.
  • the complimentary HPDE is 100% worth it. I'd highly recommend people redeem theirs before going all-in on a build, and really get a sense for how good this car is in stock form. There were a bunch of modded Mustangs and a Hellcat at my HPDE at Pacific, and the Supra was on them by turn 3 after the main straight.
  • I took it on a 1500 mile road trip, and it was very comfortable for a sports car, and I was not expecting to get 33 mpg while cruising 80-90mph most of the way with a trunk full of luggage.
  • it's crazy how much the traction control is doing to keep the car in check between hard launches, and giving the car a dab of extra throttle on a corner in the wet.
  • Some cons though: A) the engine bay is unbelievably tight to work in, B) some parts could have been done with better quality, like the breather hose into the turbo inlet pipe and the emergency hatch release, which jammed my trunk shut, and the car could really use some wider tires, C) BMW is holding back some of the nice infotainment stuff: a more useful sport display would be nice, and Supra owners probably care more about G-forces than Z4 owners do, and it would be nice to have the latest iDrive.

The TS-5s got installed, finally. They're sitting on some PS4Ses -- 265/35/19 up front and 295/35/19 in the rear.

I also replaced the A91 vinyls with a carbon fiber vinyl set from ftspeed. The fitment is far better. Also blacked out the reflectors, also with vinyls from ftspeed.

The car is going in this week to get a lot of goodies installed. I'll update the thread with that list once it's done.

Huge shoutout to Ivan and the crew at Bimtech PNW for doing a great job with the installation of everything, can't recommend them enough!

Massive list of parts installed:
  • KW DDC coilovers with 0.8" drop on all corners (alignment to be done Thursday)
  • SPL front LCAs
  • Dynaperformance CF LED steering wheel with white leather and M tricolor stitching
  • aFe front and rear sway bars
  • Endless RF 650 brake fluid
  • Endless MX72 front pads (the rears that I got from the store were for a 3.0 premium which are too big for the 3.0 base -- the store is willing to do a 1:1 swap)
  • Cusco trunk bar
  • Maxton V2 front lip
  • OLM 4th brake light

Car looks amazing. Could you do me a huge favor please? Could you take some really good up close pictures of how and where you mounted the corners of the front lip to the bumper? I used the pre-existing screw holes everywhere you could but around the outer edges I didn't know exactly where to screw so I used 3M tape around the outer edges. Yours looks better and I would love to see exactly where and how you did the screws. Thanks in advance!

Very bold of you to go with a white leather steering wheel. My OCD would not allow that lol. I feel like i'd need to clean it after every drive.

No drilling actually, just lots of 3M tape

Alignment specs. I also had the car corner balanced ahead of track work this year.

Took the car out for a proper brake pad break-in and to get a feel for it. The Endless RF 650 + Endless MX72 pads are killer at stopping the car. Excellent firm pedal feel (no sponginess) and it stops on a dime. The coilovers and sway bars also keep the car a lot more planted. I certainly have to relearn what the new limits are in corners.

Not a Corvette.
You now have more negative camber in the rear than the front?

Your before alignment camber numbers were better ?

Most of its miles are on the street and it was horribly jumpy before -- can't have it go full racecar until I have a separate car as for regular usage. It does dial down the oversteer a bit. Honestly, with how bad WA roads are, I prefer the much more neutral alignment since there's a lot of unpredictability from the roads themselves with dips and bumps.

Also worth noting that it hooks up much better on a hard launch.

I do some occasional track days (less than before because of part time grad school commitments), so I'll see if this majorly compromises track performance when I'm out there next month.
