Did it look like this?
Not really, headlamp shapes similar but front end treatment was slightly different, not much but slightly. Opening to radiator on both sides was more 90 degree to top and bottom on edges vs slightly angled
That looks pretty clean for a modern car... No conflicting body lines. I truly think the current 86/BRZ design will age well. I really hope the new one looks like this. If a larger engine is in the picture, it might make for a fun swap on the current gen (much like the 2.5 block swap on the NC Miata). Fingers crossed!!
Do you think the New GT 86 will come only in the 2.4l engine?
Doesn't make sense if it does, though. Some markets still need get the 2l engine due to tax brackets.
No idea....my suspicion is US market will only be offered 1 engine but I have no knowledge either way
Not at the moment, there’s only the 190kw/258ps which is used in the Supra SZ-R in Japan. Maybe in the next 1-2 years an updated B48 will appear.
If it was available in my market, I would already have gotten an SZ-R, as here in Italy +250hp cars have crazy taxes and Japanese tests have praised the 4 pot model for its lighter weight and more nimble handling.
I’m not so sure it makes as much sense in the USA where people are used to 300hp+ V6s and V8s.
Anyways more options are always welcome.
Do you know if the new 86/BRZ will use a NA FA24 (which doesn’t exist at the moment) or a detuned version of the turbo? I’m thinking the former 99%, but some recent articles seem to imply the latter.
How about this one?
This one is even less like next one
does the bottom part change?
it seems like the little one doesn't want to be shown up by its big brother
