I’ve been looking into upgrading the valve cover for my engine build but I’m not sure which option is best. I’m considering a few different designs and materials, but I’m curious to know what others have used or recommend. Has anyone here replaced their valve cover with a high-performance one? What are the key factors I should consider, and do you think it’s worth the upgrade?

AFAIK, the only aftermarket valve cover is the aluminum VTT one, and I guess Visconti that deletes or deletes the stock PCV from the valve cover.

Some people have run the VTT valve cover just fine, but it requires catch cans to vent PCV and CCV.

I mean... The only "upgrade" i would see for a valve cover is a PCV delete. Ooooor you're running 60lbs of boost and are desperately trying to keep the cylinder head from lifting off the block, so you buy an aluminum cover for reinforcement 🤷‍♂️

Haha fair point 😄 Unless you’re pushing crazy boost and need something to keep the head from walking off the block, a valve cover upgrade isn’t always necessary. But in my case, I’m planning a full build and looking into crankcase pressure management too, so a better-designed valve cover actually started making sense. Especially some of the baffling and breather port options out there — pretty useful if you're deleting PCV or running catch cans.
