Should we wait for the Manual Transmission Supra? Update: Tada-san says no to MT?

Unfortunately, all he confirms is that they built test vehicles with RWD and manuals. I knew it months before he said that. However, there's been some culling done recently to the G80 lineup, and what is not clear to me is which of the previously tested versions are going to remain and reach series production. My best interpretation of the information I have is that the mid-power version was dropped, and the "Pure" (may no longer be its name) version retuned for more power. The question that remains is what other changes were made to that version.

When I bought my GS400, a lot of the e39 and e60 BMW guys teased me by saying “nice Toyota”

Now that we have the a90 Supra, people are now saying “nice BMW”

So which one is it? What is supposed to be good and what is actually supposed to be bad?

Shows you can never please some people no matter what

Read that news yesterday about the G80 M3 keeping a manual for now. Definitely good to hear it confirmed! I hope they state the same for the M2.

In an Autoblog interview up today, the chief engineer indicated that " There will be no manual transmission, despite an outcry in parts of the enthusiast community over the lack of a row-it-yourself shifter. His advice: 'Customers who want a manual should choose the Toyota 86.'"

So MT fans have now been given the official Toyota finger.

With so many discussions of "if enough people demand it", I'm glad that's finally confirmed. Surely not happy out the outcome, but was expected.
Even the "cheap" C8 isn't coming out with M/T.
Kudos to BMW with next M3 and Porsche for still sticking with it, but I guess their volumes/pricing offsets the decision.

Less than 15% of Corvettes were made last year with manual trans. No surprise it will not be coming back for the C8 or the Supra
