Hi guys, I took my Supra out for a drive today and I noticed the burble and pops were almost completely gone in sport mode. The car is stock and it was completely normal 2 days ago when I last drove it. does anyone know what might have caused this?
Hey so someone here said bad fuel? When i bought my car the dumb kid filled it up with the lowest shit 87. Im in CA btw. Anyways they had to get a booster bottle or something to make sure it boosts it to 91 so they say. This morning when turning my car on i noticed i had no rev power. There was power to the car but wouldnt rev. After putting it into Reverse then backing up and putting it into drive the power finally came back. I also noticed the burple and popping noises were gone. Later I started it again and burple popping was back. Im still on the same tank of gas when I bought it. Can lower octane cause these issues with burple pops?
^^ you got me but Iād siphon as much of that gas out as possible then fill her up with the highest octane I could find. I know, youāre in CA . Then Iād drive pretty tame still on that tank (little boost) until that tank was gone. Iām cautious though.
When the temperature cooled significantly from the previous day I drove the car, I noticed that the shift up exhaust noise was completely gone so was the burble.
It was after maybe 5-10 miles of driving when the noises started coming back. Same tank of fuel and I know the valves were open because I could hear it open/close. So it has something to do with the ECU map for sure, with perhaps timing retard or something. (sorry I don't mean to sound offensive, I don't know any other way to say retarded timing in a nice way.. timing challenged..?). I am vocabulary challenged.
I took the car to the service center just in case, they siphoned the gas and checked if anything was wrong but couldnāt find anything. They refueled the car and the burbles are back. Seems like it was just a bad batch of gas
