Strangest thing...

I'm dropping my supra off at the dealer this evening for service tomorrow (oil consumption test..oil change n a few other things)...

I'm checking the oil level so I can get pics of the level n mileage..
Then I hear a cracking sound...
Sure enough my f n windshield cracked...wtf...I was just sitting in the dealer lot...
How could the windshield just break for no apparent reason?..

Gotta tell ya...I love the car but between consuming oil...all the little rattles n now a windshield that breaks just because not sure how much longer this love affair is gonna last...I apologize for the rant but damn...

It probably got damaged in a small way and then through expansion or heating it finally let go. Sorry to hear that. I had this happen on a rental Altima. Windshields are pretty minor though. The oil consumption should be the bigger of your worries.

Honestly none of it is overly concerning..just hoping Toyota takes care of an potential issues...

As for the windshield maybe it was do to heating but it really wasn't hot today n I didn't have the air on ( windows down)...oh well hopefully I'll get it sorted by weeks end...
I've got nothing better to do....bahahaha...

What kind of rattles do you have? I have a clunk over sharp bumps coming from the hatch area (I tightened the bump stops, and removed all the flat tire gear) I have creaks in the headliner, and my door locks rattle constantly. I can't believe the rattles my car has had since day one. My windshield is still intact though.

The plastic on the b pillars rattle..
The info center rattles...
Some where in the door cards rattle..
I'm sure there's more just the ones that bug the crap outta me...

I have 5000 miles on this car but it sounds like it should have 50000...

N stop bragging about how great your windshield is...NO ONE LIKES A BRAGGER...HAHAHA ?

I've had something the size of a half dollar coin hit my windshield VERY FUCKING HARD while i was cruising at 80mph, and no scratch or anything as an aftermath.... guess i gotta go play the lottery...

Safelite took care of everything and even sent out their bmw specialist to do the job. Couldn't have gone any smoother than it did. Don't even bother taking it to the dealer. They will just laugh at you.
