For the price of $55k or thereabouts, there are a ton of choices in the market currently and I'm having trouble justifying the new car price tag. Honestly, I think I might even prefer an auto for my next car, my last 3 have been manual. What other cars are in that price range 45-60?

    GT-R or Skyline GTR (32/33), "base" porsche 911 or cayman S, audi r8, s5, and rs3, bmw m2-6, mk4 Supra, jag f-type, gt350.

    What?

    Camaro ZL1, ATS-V, CTS-V, GS-F, RC-F, IS-F, Q60RS are other cars to test drive.

As for narrowing it down, what other characteristics do you value in a car? Cars like the M6, R33, and GT350 are so vastly different its hard to help without knowing what you're into.

I mean a new car is never going to make sense price wise. There's always gonna be an arguably better deal in the used market.

My stock 2005 C6 is almost identical in performance to the Supra. Except my C6 has a higher top speed(186). Not bad for a 14 year old car. And I love the Supra.

Like others have said, a new car is never gonna make sense if you just compare it to old cars.

C6 ZR1 is the better Corvette. Some early Z06 corvette's had overheating issues. The C6 ZR1 is lighter.

Interesting thread. I saw a 2018 Audi TT RS for ~$59k. The interior is lovely.
