I always assumed the 2000GT sat higher than supra in hierachy, and that the LFA was a true 2000GT successor.

both were designed to compete with porsche/supercars
both were called "outlandishly expensive" and "no-one would pay this for a toyota/lexus"

supra was envisaged to take on the local sports cars, like GT-R/NSX/RX7 etc...

“these are the latest details about the car nobody has officially seen yet but whose mule is old enough to have its own mid-cycle refresh”.

The above is a part of an article from the Jalopnik website, the comment about the mule being old enough to have its own mid-cycle refresh made me laugh....

exactly, 2000GT was already revived with the LFA.

.....the wait is coming to an end. I still think they’ll screw this up if it’s really the MKIV’s successor but at least we’ll have more info in March as opposed to waiting until the fall. I really want to love the MKV... whatever it is.
