Hey all, just checking - when you ordered your supras and received your contracts, were mats explicitly called out? If not, did the car come with mats?

My own silly mistake not picking up on it when I signed the contract, but I don’t want to be bent over by the dealer and forced to buy their mats if they’re over priced.

How much were you charged and if you bought after market, where from?

cheers

Didn't notice anything on the contract, although I can have a look when i'm home tomorrow. But the car did come with some mats. No logos or anything on them, just plain carpet mats, one square for passenger and one shaped for driver side. Wasn't paying for them that's for sure.

Yeah, mats included for footwells, not for the boot though. Toyota are pretty tight with the accessories and extras. Essentially the Jetstar of the car world. A few days before the Supra arrived I took delivery of a BMW Touring (work vehicle). On the BMW's delivery day I received a ton of stuff that I hadn't ordered for free including carbon fiber interior upgrades, exterior trim upgrades, free servicing for 3 years, umbrella's, boot mats, drink bottles, hats, it was like Christmas. The dealer also spent a good hour sitting in the car setting it all up with me. When I collected the supra I signed the delivery paperwork, was given the keys and told I could find the car somewhere down the back of the yard, basically "don't let the door hit you on the way out". The two experience's were polar opposites.

In fairness though, Toyota did make sure that my request to not drill the front plate into the bumper was honored which TBH was all that I cared about.

Front floor mats were the only thing my dealer gave me without charge - I think this is just standard practice, at least at my dealer. They're pretty shit and I haven't even bothered taking them out of the packet, lol.

I bought some 3DMax Spider Kagu mats which I am quite happy with, despite the insane total cost as they had to be re-shipped via a third party.. don't ask.

As far as I know, there are no carbon fibre interior upgrades? What did you get? Also, what exterior trim upgrades did you get. My dealer didn't even know what the words accessories or upgrades meant, let alone the concept of thrown in.

Me too, good move. Everyone I spoke to at Toyota including the dealer was astonished at this request to not fit the horrid std front plate holder. You'd think I was asking to have the vehicle delivered without wheels. When I fitted the plate holder I had bought that attaches under the front lip before I drove it home the salesman then "got it".
"I just sell cars I don't think about them" kind of response from everyone at Toyota.

Ahh sorry, I wasn't clear, the BMW that I took delivery of that same week came with all those 'free' unexpected upgrades / gifts.

The Supra came with nada.

That’s crazy to hear! Can I ask how you did your plates? Would be cool to see a pic!

Ha, Yeah, when I fitted the tow hook plate relocation kit it blew the dealers mind.

Installing the license plate off center? Witchcraft!

All good mate. I thought I missed something.. and i did. 😅

Has anyone fitted one of the Flow Brackets kits? I think that's what I'll go with.
Toyota Supra GR A90/ A91 2020 - Current - OEM Plinth Delete Kit (FRONT
Flow brackets are overpriced and on our Supras, awful. The Flow bracket effectively removes one unsightly plate mount bracket with another smaller but just as unsightly plate mount bracket. 💁‍♂️

Yeah fair enough, although I'm not a fan of blocking the radiator airflow in QLD. The Sto n show is probably the best looking one of the lot. The side mounted ones, was talking to a traffic coppa and she reckons you are 100% going to get more attention from them with that. I don't like them looking too close to any of my cars

I wouldn't be interested in anything that required drilling the front bar which this does.

While I wait for my car (nearly 2 months in and no news other than that the order has been confirmed), is there anything I should be buying in anticipation of collecting my car?

I have looked at the licence plate piece, and also the carbon wind breakers off Amazon. Anything else worthwhile?

The side mounts are technically legal if installed correctly but yes, Sto-n-sho FTW.

As for attention, you've seriously bought the wrong car.. the Supra is an attention whore no matter what you do to it!

Firstly, don't visit AliExpress as you will see so much stupid shit for your car that your head will spin.. Ask me how I know. 😂

Having said that, there are many things you could consider, but at the top of my list would be:
  • MHD (or similar) OBLink Adapter - Essential for Bimmercode/Diagnosing issues.
  • The EBay Wind Buffetting Solution - Best price/looks IMHO.
  • Decent Floor mats - You'll probably get stock ones included but they're pretty shit.
  • Blitz front strut bar - Under-hood bling and maybe some added rigidity.
  • Tada Subwoofer mod materials (foam, ports, etc.) - It does improve the audio a little.
  • Keyfob cover - Because we're spending money on stupid shit and it protects the key I guess.
  • Z1L Rock Guards - I think they look OK and protect my paint.
  • Full Adro v1 kit + generic carbon mirror caps and carbon hood vent covers. 😂
And don't forget to save some cashola for PPF/clear coat.
