Hello peeps :)
This is my first post but I wanted to ask whether or not someone has gotten the PPF from toyota and if so how does it hold up? Also I see that the installation for the bumper isnt included, do they just give you the film? If anyone has gotten the bumper option please let me know how much installation costs on average.
Looking to get the 2026 Supra black on black. Also I assume the ECU is still locked?

Generally speaking PPF from dealers is garbage. Go with a reputable shop.

The ecu is also locked.

I was just wondering as I think the car allocation details can't be changed (for the one I put a deposit on) so I might have the ppf on the hood and door cups. Was wondering if I should just do the other one as well (I'm sure they will be fine adding things then removing things but I will ask again).

They won’t remove it but you can ask for them to remove all the addon price increase which i did. The hood and door cup ppf is still holding up after a year. No issues but you can clearly see the lines where the ppf sits. Only partial hood too. I’d recommend getting the ppf of the bumper at a reputable shop instead as a bare minimum.

Thanks guys!
Do you have a photo of it by chance? I was under the impression it was a whole hood ppf, do you recommend to just taking it off if its that bad or best option to just do as you mentioned and go to a reputable shop just for the front bumper?

No, it only goes maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up the hood.

With NJ roads and traffic I'd do at least the front bumper, full hood, and rear quarters at a reputable shop.

Based upon what I've read, EXPEL and STEK are much better than what dealerships have, although I have not compared them. I have more than half of my car PPFed with STEK. The bumper, hood, fenders, doors, side skirts, and pillars were covered.
After a year and a half, most of the small PPF dings are in the bumper and hood. I see nothing in the rear fenders or hatch.

Dealer ppf is trash. Only small coverage of the hood and it's really thin compared to one of the better known brands. If on a budget do the front bumper and whole hood at a minimum. If cost is no concern, ppf the whole car.

Definitely agree with what everyone else has said, do front bumper PPF at least. If not, be prepared to buy a new bumper and have that resprayed.

My hood is still holding strong rock/paint chip free after 3~ years of ownership, but as always, YMMV.

Don’t cheap out. Our paint is soft toilet paper. When it comes time to refresh the ppf you don’t want all that paint coming off šŸ˜‚

When I bought my wifes, the ppf was was added on thru gulf states toyota (distributor) and it covers the bumper, partial hood, and door cups.. After 9 moths and 1200 miles, still looks perfect.. ECU is locked..

I'd consider asking who does the PPF. Who knows, maybe it already is an outside shop, and maybe they're great. I'd check at least.
