Hey guys/gals I have a quick q regarding my drag wheel/tire setup.

I have the Titan Motegi 17” wheels and Mickey thompson 305/45/17 ET Street R’s.

My question is whether there will be any deleterious performance issues if no Oem TPMS sensor is used with the drag setup.

Should I get 2 new oem sensors and run those? Or will the car be fine without them?

Thank you for the noob question!

If you dont have the TPMS sensors in the drag wheels you will get a warning light for low pressure. To alivate that you will either need to buy two new and put in the wheels and reset the TPMS monitor each time you you swap the rears. Or....get another pair of TMPS sensors and put inside a small pressure case and leave in the car when you have the drag wheels on.

Thank you very much - very insightful. Seems like 2 spare sensors with pressure container seems like way to go.

Do you know the oem part number for tpms sensors by chance?

This is for the Z4, but i couldnt imagine them being different. I recommend installing them in the actual wheel since you can use the TPMS system to actually see tire temp in real time....

Thank you! I found the oem Toyota ones on eBay - about 160 bucks for 4.

So since I will be adding two new TPMS sensors with the drag wheels I will need to re-calibrate the tire pressure settings each time I switch between the drag wheel and the OEM wheel, correct?

I appreciate your help it looks like you just got your drag pack too So I’m guessing you just trouble shot this yourself haha

Is there a specific pairing system in the idrive system for new TPMS sensors? I read on this forum that a guy tried to reset it through idrive and he could not find the menu to do so. I am ready to put them on, but I want to make sure I can reset via idrive.

Did those Tpms end up working?
