normally the first oil change is 5K and then 10K interval on new Toyotas. The manual says 7.2K interval on the Supra, does that mean the first oil change is 3.6K? I haven’t seen anything discussing this...

I am thinking right after the break-in period? 1,500 miles?

I suspect it uses condition-based-service (CBS) based on the BMW iDrive system. Hunt through the menus, look under Vehicle > Vehicle Status > Service Required (or similar if it was tweaked on the Supra). That will give you an estimate of when the next service is required and should update based on the driving. BMW generally calls for oil changes between 12,000-15,000 miles, or 1 year, whichever comes first. Toyota may have changed the mile limits, but probably still uses 1 year. If you put low mileage on your Supra, as I suspect many folks will since it's a second/third car for them, then you may fall into the 1 year intervals.

It will be within the first 1k miles for me just like any other car I have bought new. Likely it will be between 500 and 800 mile marks.

My car already told me I needed service at 1000 - it was on the dash one day.

I now have 4k and I will be putting it in climate control storage on October 26 :(with the oil that came in the car.
Around April 9 I will pull the car out :) and get its first oil change . This will last the 2020 driving season as
I expect to do about 8k-10k.
