Anyone else see the irony here with this guy constantly spouting off that Toyota made a German car more reliable while at the same time constantly whaambulancing about the leaking differential in his BMW?
That's the one part toyota forgot to inspect and test.

No way! Dude is on point, just ask him! Wait long enough and he'll tell you all about some job he's had or provide a clever anecdote that proves his point in his own meandering and flawed way.

He is lonely. Pretty soon he will have "don't feed the Troll" label

Your words lack quite a bit of weight. You're the same person from your diff leak situation that believes supra techs are actually knowledgeable about our cars and can diagnose issues on our cars because they're "trained" to be supra techs (one day training course). Same as these media videos (probably read a 2 page media brief).

So what's the diagnosis on your diff.
So you believe that if there is a failure of a transmission or diff, Toyota will honor a diagnosis by a BMW shop or dealership as a basis for compensation/replacement?
It could be that because I pulled my car from the dealership, any request for replacement of that diff will be rejected.
I took a risk, primarily because there is a good chance that the leak my subside on its own. I also explained to everyone that I met the tech and yes, he is as young as some of you guys. That certainly does not mean that he is inept when it comes to mechanical device comprehension and repair.
If the part and tools ever arrived, he would've spent more time on the diff quandary. It could be that his fix wasn't needed.
At this point, I'm still not positive about the root cause, but I am currently watching the (hopefully) diminishing leak. Tools are on order so I can check the fluid level.

One day a long time ago (because I just default to thinking everyone is younger than I am. You know, wisdom and such) I was reading German while waiting for my next course of authentic and perfectly crafted udon noodles. Have I mentioned how higher quality these noodles are? Anyway, I was reading German and the lovely and stylish Japanese waiter told me that they made the German language better back when they were part of the Axis powers. It got me thinking… what could they do with rubber gaskets? That very moment I knew what my career path would be.

So you believe then that Toyota simply accepted the drivetrain as-was with no feedback regarding improvements to reliability?

Yes toyota "supra" techs are 99% useless when it comes to our cars based on all the issues owners have had.

That video is old as dirt, and the guy who made it is one of our forum Administrators.

There's some people on here that have a lot of real insight on how this whole 'Frankenstein's Sports Car' actually came to be (and how development has never stopped), but their voices are usually drowned out by the overly-opinionated shouting matches between a few specific other members.

Happy Monday everyone ;)
