Nope, IMO 7000 would be the bare minimum to consider an engine high revving. But he might actually mean that at high RPMs relative to the engine he's talking about.

Are you sure you mean "nearly as fast as a run-of-the-mill DCT"? That would mean it's *comparatively* slow.
But then, Toyota Toyota, Supra ethos, so...

I'm being careful because the truly fast DCTs are still superior, but that's a good point nonetheless. It is indeed faster than many other DCTs, hence BMW among others replacing theirs with the ZF.
