3 years in and and your dealer is still a newb?My dealership canceled my scheduled service appointment today because they didn't have the correct oil. Too bad BMW dealerships don't perform scheduled maintenance. Lol.
That’s where the authorized Supra mechanic comes inThey'll forget to remove the original crush washer next.
Freakin same! Except I waited at the dealer for almost an hour before they told me. I'm only on H&R springs which don't produce that drastic of a drop.apparently my car is too low for their lift and called me to pick up my car.
I have a great mechanic that could do the basic oil change. Or I could do it myself, but lost that excitement long ago... I think mine came with the Toyoguard's included 2 additional oil changes (meaning I paid $699 for it ), on top of the 1st two free oil changes. So, it's a shame not to get the damn free ones done. I'm hoping these tips on making them more "comfortable" with such a big job will help@AyeBird has it right... just skip the Toyota dealership and go independent BMW if you've got a reputable shop nearby. When I first took mine in, the service writer was skeptical... so I told him to enter it as a '20 Z4 M40i "hard-top coupe".
He still looked skeptical when we walked out to it for the check-in inspection... but once he sat inside to get the mileage it finally clicked. They made a new entry in the database and said they now have 6 MKV's getting serviced there last time I went in for oil change and brake fluid flush/change.
It's more fun bitching about it And now I'm pretty curious what kind of crazy excuse my local dealer will have when the time comes...Or just change the oil yourself
