My dealership canceled my scheduled service appointment today because they didn't have the correct oil. Too bad BMW dealerships don't perform scheduled maintenance. Lol.

Bagged 9th gen Accord and hopefully, an A90.
Just tell your local friendly BMW dealership that you’d like to schedule your totally new BMW Z4 M40i for it’s routine maintenance lol 🙂

At least the dealership was honest to tell you they didn't have the oil. They could've easily put in the regular Toyota oil and you wouldn't know any better

Making me wonder if I call my local dealer a week ahead of time to order the oil, if they'll still find a way to screw it up :bonk:

Okay so we need to:
1) call a week ahead of time to make sure they have the oil
2) walk inside and see if they can lift the car
3) make sure there is a "Supra" tech - I've heard this one before
4) *fill in the blank*

They'll forget to remove the original crush washer next.

That’s where the authorized Supra mechanic comes in 🤷‍♂️

I’ve heard so many horror stories that I’m ½ way joking and ½ way serious about letting the dealer do my 1st oil change. It’ll save a couple hundred bucks IF they don’t screw anything up….

@AyeBird has it right... just skip the Toyota dealership and go independent BMW if you've got a reputable shop nearby. When I first took mine in, the service writer was skeptical... so I told him to enter it as a '20 Z4 M40i "hard-top coupe".

He still looked skeptical when we walked out to it for the check-in inspection... but once he sat inside to get the mileage it finally clicked. They made a new entry in the database and said they now have 6 MKV's getting serviced there last time I went in for oil change and brake fluid flush/change.

apparently my car is too low for their lift and called me to pick up my car.
Freakin same! Except I waited at the dealer for almost an hour before they told me. I'm only on H&R springs which don't produce that drastic of a drop.

I have a great mechanic that could do the basic oil change. Or I could do it myself, but lost that excitement long ago... I think mine came with the Toyoguard's included 2 additional oil changes (meaning I paid $699 for it 😖), on top of the 1st two free oil changes. So, it's a shame not to get the damn free ones done. I'm hoping these tips on making them more "comfortable" with such a big job will help

Or just change the oil yourself
It's more fun bitching about it 😂 And now I'm pretty curious what kind of crazy excuse my local dealer will have when the time comes...
