I’m wondering if altering suspension (and maybe some aero based on previous post, like a splitter) could alleviate this. I might get some lowering springs to see if it makes any difference… I don’t recall anyone in this thread being lowered but I’ll reskim when ready to pull the trigger.
It’s...
If you’re on a smooth road and you’re feeling vibrations through the wheel, then you might want to get a second opinion. If you’re feeling feedback due to slight imperfections in the road, then normal.
I don’t feel any vibration/pulsing in the steering wheel outside of the 60-70 MPH range on a...
The issue that we’re experiencing in this thread only occurs in a certain MPH range (60-80 for OP, 60-70 for me). If we’re cruising at 40, 50, we don’t feel it.
So it’s not just a matter of “feeling the road” - since that would be also present at most other speeds. But yes, there should not be...
Yup, that’s exactly how I would describe it as well. Doesn’t seem to be balance, wheels, or tires. I think wheel bearings/driveshaft balance would indeed be the next places to look at.
Please update if you can after you have the bearings inspected - would be awesome to get to the root of this!
I'm happy (and sad) that it's not just me.. this has been driving me crazy. Less crazy now that I know I'm not alone. I have the same exact thing, roughly in the 60-70 MPH range, and also particularly only on very smooth roads.
I've also tried road force balancing, alignment, and swapped...
You don't want to go 9.5 for winter tires. The narrower the better for snow, so you'd rather go 8.5 over 9.5. If you're set on the 255 tires then I guess it doesn't make a difference whether you're 9 or 9.5 though.
I think I might do 245/40/18 in the front and 245/45/18 in the rear. As long as...
Hi Folks! Don’t blast me for this the same way I’m going to sand-blast and abuse the supra this winter :)
Just purchased a winter set of wheels (18x9), square setup. Considering the following sizes for tires:
245/40/18
245/45/18
255/40/18
The recommended tire size for this setup is 255/40/18...
