Helloooooo threadsurrection lol.
Stated in manual or not, because of environmental regulations or not; it's not good to idle this engine due to the lack of vacuum, it's essentially overloading the PCV system for no reason. I used to warm up given our gnarly winters with temps as low as -43. But...
I've isolated it down to turbo, I've vented everything to atmosphere and still had oil which points to the turbo being faulty. Quick search on here showed many people having issues with the turbos. I was out of warranty period by the time I had narrowed it down to the turbo core being the issue...
I have a bone dry AOS but consume about 2L of oil between changes (15k km). All that oil is disappearing into my intake via the great and mighty oil gulping craPure800 that had the issue since day 1 ?.
Glad to report our factory PCV system is pretty darn good, not so glad to report that...
This is a turbo issue, I'm running a pure800 and I've been working on eliminating all sources of oil build up in the intake for the past year, I've found a way to vent everything to atmosphere since Dec 21, here I am still getting puddles of oil in my intake in April 22 lol. It's the turbo for...
Curious how everyone is hooking up a valve to that line, I've tried to hook up both a gfb response and an HKS ssqv to that line and they seem to just be permanently shut. I did log an average of 1.4 in/hg of vacuum on that line, the lowest vacuum I got was 3.2 in/hg.
F203 in the back, it's a 7.5A. I plan on running a fuse tap to run a switch and fuse holder in line to have a dedicated exhaust flap switch. Just haven't found a good spot for the switch yet.
Threadsurrection, don't run ots standard fuel maps, datalogs show consistent knock detection, it may be doing this to prevent the knock. Canadian fuel is ACN fuel according to rktunes and the best local subie tuner where I am. Tuning subies is literally like tuning glass motors, if anyone knows...
This is excellent, why would you want to close the valve ?. I pulled the fuse on mine to keep em open running catless and magnaflow catback in mufflerless configuration, still need more turbski noises doh, hoping pure800 fixes that.
Is it possible the valve controller is mounted in the wrong...
Any way you still have this file to host over Google drive or an alternate shared storage? Gofile looks like they've been trying to migrate their servers for a week saying it'll be done in a few hours, or they no longer exist as a file sharing service.
Much appreciated
Perfectly normal lol, going catless on a turbo motor always gives this sound, unless the exhaust system has a ton of baffles and restrictions that cancel everything out.
The OEM supra exhaust is near straight pipe performance so my guess is little to no baffling inside the muffler, just the...
Lol, I'm guessing first time driving a turbo catless car? It's whistling not whining, whining is what superchargers with intakes sound like, that off throttle whistle is your turbine slowing down. With a cat in place and mufflers all those turbine sounds go away but catless gives back the...
Sorry for the threadsurrection. Factory turbo actually a pretty cheap part compared to other Japanese turbo cars I've owned lol.

@~$1300 I'm actually questioning business practice...
The clicking u hear is common across nearly all BMW suspension setups when u change, or remove and reinstall struts; they need to load the control and steering knuckle assembly to simulate vehicle weight as much as possible before tightening the knuckle pinch bolt on to the strut. This procedure...
Yeh I found throttle sensitivity is a bit too aggressive with BM3 which would explain the abrupt torque value based shifts. After a few days driving I eventually adjusted to the new throttle response but it definitely points in the direction of torque output governed shifts based on throttle...
Old thread resurrection lol. Interesting this earlier shift point discussion comes up on tuned cars, wonder if the shift points are governed by the transmission based on torque values rather than engine RPM. AFAIK BM3 does not adjust transmission behavior, when I go to the transmission section...
Catless with factory catback pops much louder than most BMW's. I'm running the magnaflow with muffler on normal side and test pipe on sport side with a 4.5" catless downpipe, the pops make ears ring at 10' it's special kind of loud lol; really has to be heard in person to comprehend how loud it...
