I've pretty much been calling all the new allocations that have been popping up and it seems like dealerships are going back to selling them at markup, sadly. I guess I'm just going to have to wait out the waitlists from places that are actually willing to sell at MSRP.
Some of these...
...after placing my order for a MT 3.0 Supra in renaissance red. My local dealer is supposedly a major supra seller and receives "regular allocations". According to my salesperson. He himself drives a supra and supposedly is the guy you call if you want a supra. I did have to pay 2k over MSRP...
Just Put my deposit down today for a 24 3.0 MT. Im third in line at my local dealer but the two allocations in front of me are both Autos. Got in writing to get the vehicle 2k above MSRP as this dealer is a high volume one and the salesperson I worked with is known for selling supras. He gave...
...allocation late March with an ETA of June 12, later delayed until July 03-07, current ETA is July 28. So still waiting with no car in hand even though there are others with later deposits and allocations that have already taken delivery ?. Toyota's allocation and delivery system is absolute crap.
Looks like 45th anniversary edition allocations have started; anyone here planning on getting one?
15k markup is absolutely insane though... and it's on an automatic.
...I don't think there are many sitting around unaccounted for, but likely buyers backing out due to change of plans, financing, finding allocations elsewhere, etc.
Got them to drop dealer fee but they were quite pushy on the appearance protection/warranty plans. Good to know that you can...
I may be wrong, but I believe that "dealer hold" means that the dealer is reserving the car for someone on their waitlist already. It isn't "pre-sold" because some dealerships are not allowed or would rather not sell the car until it arrives at the dealership. That is why some only take...
I called a few dealers with allocations from that tracker spreadsheet but I am trying to understand what the Dealer Statuses mean, particularly Dealer Hold. Some that had no status in the sheet were already sold and delivered.
...a vehicle with it. Toyota will request a certain number of certain color combos for the build contract, and then it's happy hunting if there's one you're dead set on having when Toyota peppers the allocations semi-randomly throughout the country. There's bound to be a lot of broken hearts.
is it a possibility I will not get the car at all? The dealership I provided earnest money for (non refundable) only has 4 on the waitlist. 2 manual 2 automatic in which I’m “second place” for AT in black and possibly white. I may reach out to other dealerships if I’m unlikely to EVER receive a car.
Yeah, in that case the one color and number of allocations the dealer tends to get will probably be the determining factor for you.
I decided to hedge my bets by getting on the waiting list at four different dealers (anyone that says that's unethical can go kick rocks). Three of those requiring...
...a Pro? Yes they do the “pretend” spec ordering sheet but typically will let you know it’s a “wish” list only. Back when they could match allocations better. Out of habit I suppose.
Anyway dude, sorry to hear. Hope you get the Premium (Pro) rear calipers. That would be another concern to me...
I finally found a dealership I was willing to work with. 2024 Supra @ MSR. Both parties signed build sheet and OTD price sheet @ 64K. What does that look like now with them trying to pursue the car? Does Toyota manufacturing work with allocations around the U.S. to fill them?
Put deposit down for msrp day 1 allocations opened for MT. So I’m over 6 months. Dealer wouldn’t take anything before that day. I’m first out of 46 people waiting for an MT. Not one has arrived… high volume dealer too. looks like barely any came to our state so far or unless you buy out of...
I did speak to ENS but no I didn’t end up ordering from them. They told me the same thing, 1-2 allocations a year, need deposit and pre-approved financing, no real timeline.
Yeah it's a crap shoot & you'll probably only know when it's coming when it has already arrived ;)
Mine came pretty quickly (6 months to take delivery, knew they had it coming about 4-5 months) because of the Toyota "ordering" system, which looks a bit like this:
and because I had something...
