I keep coolant in the garage for all our cars. Various makes & models. They all need more from time to time. Only one VW we had sprayed everywhere. I thought it was the cap only to find out later the wife admitted she forgot to put it back on after adding some ??♂️
Yea I replaced my cap as well. I still hear gurgling from the engine bay but it stops completely when the car is off. Did tip off coolant once last year too.
I think you need to just put some force into turning it. Mine was like that and had dry white stuff on the cap which made it harder to take off. I cleaned the white stuff and replaced the cap which reduced the coolant loss over time and it’s easier to take off now
When I went to start my car up today, I got a message saying my coolant was basically empty. I thought that was odd since I just purchased the car, so I checked one of the reservoirs and I can see coolant basically to the max. When I went to check the other tank, I can't seem to twist off the...
A little difficult to find a replacement expansion tank cap specifically for the Supra. Fcp euro sells one but the underside of the cap is a bit different. Would the one from fcp cause any issues...
is this a drain/flush from radiator lower hose and fill at cap? My coolant is brownish too and was looking to just a full cleanout and refill to try and see if it is still getting contaminated or if they mixed coolants at some point.
All carbon covers from Rexpeed. Just missing some coolant/oil cap covers.
Goldenwrench never seem to have their caps in stock anymore, so I will probably get the ones from Verus Engineering.
Definitely take it to them since it’s under warranty. Make sure they have a Supra tech the day of your service date. They should do a pressure test for leaks (or air) and/or thermostat malfunction.

Curious what they say...
Hey, so I’ve been having issues with my coolant leaking all over the engine bay. It seems to be coming out from the radiator cap which I’ve replaced in the past and now it’s just non stop. After I go for a drive and reach a temp I’ll get a drivetrain malfunction message followed by top off...
Thank you, I’ll replace it anyways to be more sure. I’m curious how much coolant flushes are costing you guys. Living at an apartment does not make it easy to maintenance this car.
I admit it is difficult for me to explain the cooling loss. My best theory is that the coolant level was already juuuuust above the trigger level for the coolant level sensor. Then, a small amount of natural-and-expected loss plus loss from bonding to the surface metals pushed it over the edge...
On the BMW S55, the top mount intercooler would leak and dump small amounts of coolant into the engine and cause a low coolant over time.
I suspect the intake manifold integrated cooler in the B58 is also susceptible to a similar flaw.
Other than a leaking cap or hose somewhere, there are only...
Thank you! This will be my next move. My only question is, what’s causing it to go low? Would it be the cap or is there a common area that it leaks from that I don’t know about?
