has anybody used the bimmer link to reset the oil
Maintenance lighf yet? I am
Too lazy to hit the start button 3 times and push down the button over and over. lol ?
A friend who has a 2020 launch edition Supra is having a problem I’m hoping someone can solve. He constantly has a notification that he needs an oil change. He and I both have tried to reset it using the diagnostic mode and little button on the dash and it actually says’impossible to reset’...
I saw on your blog you ended up replacing the bolt and saw no improvement. I'm getting this code and curious if its also a false alarm. Any other information on this?
I'm sure a mechanic knows way more than me, but I thought it wasn't a good idea to overfill the ZF autos and they usually had a particular fluid change procedure. Like, fill until oil runs out fill plug, turn on car and run through park, reverse, 1st, 2nd while parked, let transmission get to...
Ok boys, so I’m back with more woes.
long story short, I took my car in for a trans fluid change because it was slightly shuddering from the 4th-5th shift off throttle, but was fine on throttle.
well when the tech drained the oil, he found tons of metal shavings in the pan. Which he says...
Some additional data (before I replaced the central valves). Note some of this info including videos and data screen shots can be found here: https://sectoronedesign.wordpress.com/2023/08/02/speed-summit-global-time-attack-ridge-motorsports-park-july-2023/
When this first happened... On the...
It's interesting you say that because I just scheduled a basic oil change at two local Toyota dealerships and both said they would need the car the entire day....not sure why they need the car for so long for something so basic. Definitely leaning towards independent shop or BMW dealership for...
Bro question is, how did all this fly by you. The intake, the dp, the exhaust, and the unlock?? How did you miss it??
Also this why switch to JB4? It's already out of warranty if it was DME unlocked.
I was lied to when buying my used Supra. I was told it wasn’t tuned. 3 days on this forum after purchase and I realized the truth. It was unlocked/BM3 tuned, catless DP, armaspeed intake and Mbrp valved exhaust. Oh and H&R lowering springs. So I decided to do the brake recall and reset/relock...
So - Getting ready to do my first oil change. Does having the car on an incline reduce the amount of old oil you drain out of the pan, etc.?? It would make it much easier if did not have to lift all four corners of the vehicle.......
Did an oil change today and looked into the Oil Filter Housing and noticed one of the clips was missing in the housing. Probably broke off from previous oil changes. Anyway looked everything over put the new filter and oil and resetoil on the computer. Did a test drive car runs perfect. Will...
That’s my debate, to use or not use the free oil changes. In addition, my car came with the Toyota care which adds an additional 2 oil change.
I do want to have the maintenance documented, so I guess I’ll have to roll the dice and let them service it.
This ☝ is exactly why I don’t go back…. And the weakest link of Supra ownership, imo. We will have a Supra tech. Sorry we don’t have a Supra tech. We can reset your codes. Sorry we can’t reset your codes. We can do an alignment. We can’t do that kind of alignment. SPL parts… negative 2.5 camber...
Make sure date/time is correct. And also make sure your hood is CLOSED all the way. My hood wasn’t closed and I was trying to reset the oil maintenance light and it kept saying “reset impossible” too….. Took months to figure it out….
Not sure how or why, but a lot of the computer glitches just go away after driving around, turning the car off, locking the doors, sitting a while…. Not the best answer and haven’t seen or heard of this error yet. Will be interesting to see the responses. Good luck brother!
