...fuel pump is lifting, it's puts a CCW torque on the yellow body. This squeezes some fluid out of chamber B due to leakage paths. The oilpump has to refill chamber B before the next pumping event. If not, B is too small and now you have retard/delay error. the exhaust cams, which are also...
This looks correct. Don’t forget to buy the Subframe Torque to Yield bolts, they’re single use. My dealership bought a lot of stuff to replace. Even new rubber grommets and such. I’ll see if I can find the paperwork.
guys short question: this is the fixed oilpump right?
https://www.leebmann24.com/de/de/product/bmw-oelpumpe-10082605?
and do i need order the whole set or just the pump? Any tipps?
First thing I would do is dump the oil and see how much is in there and see if it's overfilled. It only costs time. If it's not then as others have said it looks like oilpump time.
Phil
If you can’t measure the oil its likely overfilled. I would put stock cat back on and start a warranty claim for the oilpump and or oil level sensor.

From what I’ve read and come to understand from the forums is that if you cannot get the car to read your oil level, then you may have a bad oilpump. (Which I guess is a common issue) I’d swap the cat back on and let the dealer handle it.
Trans fluid kit with new filter and pan and differential fluid too. You can get both on FCP Euro. Also run the built in oil level check. If it fails, you're going to want to look into getting the oilpump replaced to the newest revision due to the milage.
...one has let their pump go super long unreplaced that at least knows of this issue.
At worst the nylon will completely disintegrate and the oilpump fails taking the engine with it. At best, nothing happens.
I did replace mine and all is well. Personally I think that this part should be...
Yeah the car was warmed up.
This was a theory I had too which is why I want to get it replaced. Would there be any issues driving it around as long as it's in normal mode? The car usually peaks at 100psi in that mode.
That seems very high. AFAIK, the oilpump fails into high pressure mode for safety. @garudathree recently replaced his oilpump on his 21. Maybe he can give you some more insight.
...car at idle, cruising, and WOT. I see 100+ PSI / 7-8 bar at WOT. With 3-4 bar at idle and up to 5 while cruising.
I might have a faulty oilpump from what it seems in these forums and other BMW forums as my year was affected with the plastic internals. Other symptom is the obvious unable to...
Theres 2 locals here running the RP turbo, both have had oil feed issues. Until they figure that out, id prefer not to go that way.
Thanks for the input.
I dont launch, so Im not sure about this.
The time has come to move on to my next project; so I thought I'd do a little writeup on the best car I've ever owned.
I bought this car during COVID. Initially going in to grab a red 3.0, they sold that on me; so they offered me a steal on a white 2.0. Being a frugal man in his late 30s, I...
I had a reply in mind but it's related to coolant temps not oil temps. But I can't delete my reply so I guess I'll suggest filling the coolant and trying again.
There's a bleed procedure to run as well. Not sure the Supra steps but in BMW land it's a couple of things turned on, then you set the...
you're comparing oil to gas which is a horrible comparison. oil isnt being ignited.
and yes people in hot climates have oil consumption issues, and have said switching to heavier weight fixed it. euro vs domestic b58s aren't that different nor is bmw going to rebuild an entire enigne just to use...
lol i'm really not sure why you get so sensitive if someone chooses to run oil that was recommended by the manufacturer. obviously "it doesnt matter at the end of the day". pump 87 because "it doesnt matter at the end of the day". the ecu will just re-learn all the timing based on knock sensors...
