If stock exhaust is good for 450whp for track or does it have EGT limiting problems.
And weight reduction worth on this car, mostly taken out from the back.
Also i cant measure oil so I wonder if thats a sensor only issue or oilpump is dying, but this one got ignored ?
...of a puzzle i guess :D
Battery is dying a bit after 4yrs too, so will prob replace with light one.
On other note, cant measure oil level, wonder if is a sensor or a oilpump failing.... I heared 2019 and 2020 models had more plastic fuel pumps, that got changed and upgraded later to metal...
That’s a good idea, can I just buy a Z4 coolant cap? It’ll be cheaper and faster to get than a new one from Toyota. That’s crazy because I’m also trying to mod my Supra, I have all my parts but don’t wanna add things until I figure it out.
Do you smell coolant by the reservoir after driving it? I’m super sensitive to the smell of coolant and I have that scent near my drivers side. Can not find a leak and replaced 2 caps. Dealer checked it out and said no leaks and pressure test was fine. Water pump was fine as well. No leaks...
Thanks for the write up and the continued development. I've been following a lot of your other work as well. While I trust your development and testing I'd love to see a separate post showing data, logs, before/after, etc. I think especially this community is very data oriented (or well I know...
...about changing there oil after every track day. Which we have noticed helps a lot. But does not prevent the issues we continue to see. Especially the guys with the older Oilpumps and control valves in the earlier B58 engines. Hope this helps some people understand a little more about the issues.
2020 Premium in great condition. Has everything including HUD.
Has 19,xxx miles on it.
less than 2000 miles on set up (turbo, tune, fuel system, wheels & Tires)
Car was originally a California car for the first 18,000 miles of its life and lived in a garage its entire life.
I shipped it from...
91 octane in California doesn't have to do with 93 being specifically "banned" there. California premium fuel had a 92 octane rating until 2001.
MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether... which is an octane booster but also a carginogen that can affect ground water) was being phased out at that time...
Well, planning to run 500-520 crank hp either with stock hybrid turbo or pure700 upgr. But power is last on the list.
Going to pick up the car finally tomorrow ?
...the 23-25psi mark. Unfortunately, where you are headed, there is no cheap route. I will say that you absolutely need to look into fixing the oilpump issue on your car and all the updated Vanos parts for your 2 port engine. We just recently found a nice little fix for the guys running into...
Full bolt-ons + turbo upgrade will get you to into 500's around 530whp give or take as I am basing this on 98RON fuel. If you need more juice add Port injection into the mix. As for cooling get an EOS or CSF intake manifold the best one's out there. As for oil cooling trans etc. Go for a CSF...
..."track" option with larger front brakes (374mm front rotors and larger caliper) and aux oil cooler which has a different oil filter housing, oilpump and, of course, an external heat exchanger style oil cooler under the car like the full fat M cars.
Ironically, the Supra, which is better...
update : as of today we installed all the fuel upgrades I am extremely excited to be able to data log and post data , for people wanting to know how installation was , HPFP and injectors were very easy you just need the right tools for injectors but took less than 30 mins for injectors I also...
when you put a pump in, normally you have the flow through the input/layshafts, and oil squirting into gear mesh through holes in forks, shafts, sometimes even in the root of the gear tooth
well, that's how we design them at work and it works well.
Yeah it may be the same pump as in the G80 M3 since it's essentially the same base box (GS6-5XX), if that's the case it's for the gearbox's dry sump system which is very rare in manual boxes, helps significantly with keeping temps uniform inside (such as hard cornering and a shaft doesnt get...
They show it as having an actual pump as opposed to the classic 'guided splash-lube' system we're used to in manual gearboxes. However, what pressure said pump can generate and how the oil is distributed are unknowns.
