Take it to another dealership and try again, don't mention you visited another dealer prior. I got my Oilpump replaced under powertrain no questions asked. They saw the oil pressure was inconsistent and authorized replacement. ( I have a thread posted about my process and experience) Took me...
I have a 2021 and am having the issue with oil level not measuring, which everyone says is likely a failing fuel pump in the forums. Toyota says they’ll only replace fuel pump under warranty after trying to replace oil pressure control valve first, but that’s no longer under warranty. Anybody...
I guess that's hard to say but it isn't a totally comfortable situation. Apart from the extra power to drive the pump there could also be issues with the pumps drive longevity. Things aren't necessarily designed to work at maximum output permanently.
I think if I had an affected car and not...
So how long can we technically "live with" the default high pressure scenario before it becomes detrimental to the engine? Until the CEL comes on?
Not being able to measure the oil is annoying but not scary since I haven't burned or lost any oil in my 5 years of ownership and do religious oil...
Nice tack to take. I used that when I uploaded a failure video to the complaint site. Told them I paid $94 for diagnostics and the failure mode was not fixed. Let’s see. Thanks for the pro tip!
Then tell them to fix the issue of it not reading oil level. If he won’t jump to replacing oilpump. He can’t just ignore the oil level reading not functioning. Take it to another dealer lol. Shit tech right there. even tho the other Supra tech at the other dealers may be the same
Interesting. I’ve tried mine from cold start after short drives. Doesn’t matter - at least for me. But I’ll try that. Thanks!
yea, it’s going back tomorrow. We’ll see what they say
for me it was an "1C0101 engine oil pressure regulation" code for a long time, then simply "1C2001 oilpump" when the CEL came on. 2021, 35K miles.
failing to read is almost always an indicator that your pump is in the early stages of failure. Could go a year like mine did before actually...
I wouldn't be relying on that assumption for the the continued viability of the engine. A check of the engine oil pressure scheduling would be a wise precaution.

...cold start and idle for 5-10 minutes and as SOON AS the "measure oil level" was selectable, I measured oil. It works for me, I dunno why, but if I drive anywhere longer than 10 minutes it doesn't allow me to measure oil. Weird, but I think potentially a software bug rather than a failing oil...
...and 2.0 Liter. Possible mistype?
The major differences are 2 port (earlier models, 2020) vs 6 port (2021+). There's a few other smaller differences like plastic oilpump internals on the earlier models vs metal on older.
I'm sure someone has a more complete list, but those are the major ones.
...steering from sport back to normal. Issue solved. Maybe try that.
If you do have a warranty issue, find a dealer who has a Toyota dealership and a BMW dealership. That's what I did when the oilpump failed on mine. The Toyota dealership had the BMW dealership swap the oilpump, all under...
...of time it establishes that the oil pressure is within certain parameters and then measures the oil Qty? If this is the case then when the oilpump adjuster ring breaks/fails the oil pressure defaults to max oil pressure which is above the pressure parameter for oil level checking so you get...
That's about $2388 US dollars which is about right. My dealer said it would be about $2500, but luckily I got mine replaced under warranty. Zero cost to me, just didn't have the car for 2 weeks. Glad you're fixed up. Enjoy.
