The intake pulls its air from directly behind the headlight. None of the factory vents feed air there from what I could tell when I had the bumper off, they just feed misc radiators and the wheel well/brakes. There’s a horizontal separator that isolates all of the vents from the headlight and...
True, but it’s better than getting zero air flow in the area where the intake is pulling air from. At least this is filling that area with cool air from the vent. Like you I thought that it was fully connected/sealed so you could get some pressure from the scoop at speed, that’s not the case...
Dumb idea, since I’m not that familiar with the intricacies of BMW tuning, but a big correction on shifts and then steady recovery while at WOT looks like shift knock to me, possibly a blown mount?
I bent the shit out of a motor mount on my STi one day at the track on a hard launch. The rest...
The interchiller page mentions that, if you put it in "race mode" it completely isolates the refrigerant from the A/C system so the condenser won't accumulate condensation. They claim that in that mode it's legal for tracks.
Most (all?) modern cars shut off the A/C compressor at WOT, I assume the Supra does too. I suspect this wouldn’t accomplish much on a track since you’re at WOT so much that without the compressor running, your intake will just heat up like normal. On the street or strip I could see it being a...
I’m up in the Westminster area and could drive you around. My car isn’t stock though, so if you’re looking for how the stock suspension/power feels mine won’t be that. It’s not crazy though, just front sway, HKS adjustable springs, stage 2 E50, etc.
I recently installed the traction links on my car. I can’t say the difference was as dramatic as you describe, but it was noticeable. It helped to tighten up the rear end, especially over bumps, and it helped to calm down my wheel hop as well. I now have all the rest of the SPL arms on order...
A lot of people have swapped out the suspension arms/bushings, usually to SPL. Most have done it to improve feedback/feel or increase their alignment adjustment range, I haven't heard of anybody who did it because their stock bushings had failed.
I find it hard to believe that a 2 year old car...
Nah the rear is super easy, much faster than the front. Especially with the HKS that requires removing the front strut and hammering off the spring seat.
Post-install adjustments are the other way around though, rear you have to pull off the car, front can be done while still installed. That...
Rubbing isn’t good, drop to a smaller size spacer. FC has 5mm which should be more than enough. That’s what I run with my 265/35/19 RT660s on stock wheels and HKS springs.
