Part of the reason I havent pulled the trigger on BM3 is because California..... I will eventually do it but want to do a cloned ECU so I can just swap back the stock one when its time. The power I make with the JB4 is just fine with me since I am not looking to be the fastest one out there.
I just checked out of curiosity. In my time selling parts, I've sold about 90 Jb4s to supra, and honestly, I would say 90% of those people are more than satisfied with the results they gain, especially after some custom tuning sauce by @Jesse DaBears which really does make a difference in one of...
I've noticed that with most blown stock turbos it happens on a tune or piggyback tune of +4 psi or greater. I've seen this now on all stg2 tunes from BM3/MHD, +4 on JB+, and anything revolving around Map 2,3,4,5 on JB4 which involves at least +4 psi. But what I haven't seen yet is a blown turbo...
You know, I’ve followed the thread and am absolutely wanting to pull the trigger on it, and tune with MHD or BM3 but it’s out of my budget at the moment. So for the time being, I wanna try the JB4. I’m new to modifying and tuning, so I thought this would be a good start. Let me know once you...
Check out this thread. I just moved to a tuning platform and will be putting my JB4 up for sale next week. This isn't good business but if I was you, I'd skip the JB4 and ship that DME to Femto. Trust me. If i could do it all over again, I'd skip the JB4 and go straight to BM3 or similar...
Hey fellas. Like i mentioned above, i received my DME earlier today. Was able to get BM3 installed. HUGE thanks to Louaye from EPC. Dude is a champ. Walked me through the whole process via text and phone. That's customer service.
First time BM3 user. Was able to download and test a few...
Right now I'm on a JB4 with full bolt-ons
440/456 on E15. Tuner said that was essentially 93. I'm hoping to see north of 460/500 on a E30-40. On E50 I'd like to see 475/520.
I'll be running BM3s flex fuel kit when it finally arrives. Until then I can track my E content using the Fuel-it...
Honestly with a 2020, you should really take advantage of it being able to run Ecutek, bm3, and mhd. No idea why anybody would want to run jb4 on a 2020……..
For JB4 Tunes I would highly recommend @Jesse DaBears at 1FastSupra
But if you're going full send on the DME unlock... P2uned is the way to to, they are a top shop. Norris and the crew there are super cool, very honest and knowledgeable.
Sorry to hear this. Kinetic tuned my jb4 map6 for me about 3 months ago. While i was getting it tuned, Sean sold me on getting the trans tuned via xHP. I paid them $500 for what I thought was a license. They flashed my supra with the stage 3 tune using their shop license and called it a day...
When you're a few custom maps in with the jb4 and too deep to pull out lol. If I could do it all over again, I'd prob go down the unlock route and call it a day and not bother with the jb4 but like someone said, different strokes for different ppl. Jesse is GREAT and his sauce is bomb though.
JB4 is still going to be less for now, but if you buy a JB4 second-hand at their going rate on this forum ($400-450 w/bluetooth) - its still the best performance value.
I paid $425 for my JB4, custom tuning it myself for free, and put a $400 downpipe in it. I should be pushing ~450whp with...
No...it's 400 (Used with BT) + 300-600? (was less than it is now....was less than JB4 when I did it). I still haven't even got to the "unlock" price with Jb4 and tune. Unlock is only half of it. And if the dealer relocks your sh*t? $700 again or w.e it is. Jb4? No relocks, just quick easy cheat...
I didn’t think of that. Good point. You could pull the JB4 out a pinch easier, I’d think and have a more marketable car for the masses. If/when you ever went to sell…
Ultimately it’s what the end user wants to do and I’m sure there’s a lot more flexibility (and complexity) with unlocking the...
