Europerformancecenter for the femto trip and unlock
BM3 if you only ever plan to do VERY simple mods. MHD otherwise.
Find a good remote tuner.

catless custom tune MHD E50 can run 7.3s
for added context, OTS MHD E40 and OTS BM3 E50 are pretty much bumper to bumper

Manuals don't need JB4, the ecu is different, just remove it (be sure to unplug the battery first) and bring it to a BMW dealership and tell the service guy that you would like to swap it...

For anyone on the fence about the FP upgrade, here's a 91/E40 car running trims at 25-35.
It has similar boost and timing to a MHD/BM3 OTS E40 map, so I would expect similar power though it runs leaner on JB4.

Just saw this! I will look into this option, they told me its the same way as installing a flex fuel kit for BM3. The video still shows tapping into the TCU connector which i dont have, so i might have to tap into the passenger footwell like you mentioned.

Virus is a harsh word. It's a voltage hack if anything. And don't forget, other BMW owners are doing the Femto route as well. It's not just Supra's. You've got G80 M3CS's, X5comp, M4comps, M2's, etc... these cars are even more expensive.

A virus? Yeah I don't know who you're talking to but that's a poor choice of explanation/wording.
JB4 can be summed up as a fancy boost controller with more settings but far less settings and customization than an unlocked ECU with MHD/BM3.

I would also like to add that since the JB4 isn't a full-fledged tune, some customizations will be completely unavailable. You will never be able to adjust the 'burble' on JB4, tuning with BM3 gives access to higher ethanol content (more fueling control) and in-dash ethanol readout...
How is it not detectable by the dealer if you decide to remove the tune? I thought any alteration to the ECU can be detected, even if brought back to stock.
