Do CDV Delete with a clutch stop, makes it decent imo. As other's have said it's not exponential but it's good feeling enough for a BMW.

You can affix the shift boot to the trim any way you like. I just said screws, you can use glue, staples, clips, etc.

Yeah I hear you, I believe this piece can be used as both, either ran with an aftermarket boot or without. But the user would have to thread their screws in themselves for the shift boot. Still in test fit stage though.

Made a custom shift plate that clips in cause I didn't want to cut up the stock boot. Curious if there's any interest.

Thanks for that. Yeah I ultimately ended up getting coilovers with camber plates. Didn't want to be limited with wheel/tire size and options.

It's definitely just logging, I think especially if you used Bimmercode to tweak some things, it'll pop some errors if you change the code. But no CEL you should be fine.
