  1. Warming up Supra

    Oil comments are completely wrong
  2. Warming up Supra

It's not good to warm up any car idling. It's best to get in, get yourself situated, seatbelts, music, whatever, and go. Keep the load on the engine low until the coolant gauge reaches optimum temperature. There's no oil gauge, because it isn't important. Oil works at any temp. Coolant gauge is...
  3. Wouldnt Rev after starting

back in the days, the oil temp had to get hot before the vtec engaged on my gsr swapped civic. Yes I was a ricer, I jumped into the car when it was cold and wot to 8,000 rpms and wonder why my vtec didn’t kick in. Lol
  4. Wouldnt Rev after starting

I totally agree. Unless you’re running some thick as molasses engine oil, cold starts or driving right after starts shouldn’t be a major issue.
  5. Wouldnt Rev after starting

I have mine coded to start on sport mode. Doesn't seem to affect it. It shifts at low rpm just like normal mode, it just won't go to 8th gear. Oil temp isn't THAT important. Oil works at any temp. Coolant temp is a good indicator for a warm engine and all the metals have expanded etc. Letting...
  6. Oil Temperature

I saw the same thing when I purchased mine. Very quick and pretty even ramp up of temp for both coolant and oil. Definitely not "normal" so I did some research and the B58c design flows a good bit of coolant through the exhaust manifold which is build into the head. This heats up the coolant...
  7. 2020 Supra BIG Turbo

having IATs that are actually too cool is not a thing. Im talking real IATS not spraying the IAT sensor lying to the ECU IATS. However, Coolant temps should remain between 190-215deg F. colder than that you lose efficiency, and hotter than that you do as well.
  8. Shakedown of my new Supra at VIR

My car is a premium package bought new (for MSRP!) at the beginning of August from a local dealer. I have put 1200 miles first on street, and only changes are decent engine oil and high temp brake fluid. I have done many track days over the years, but not so much recently with only 1 or 2...

  10. A90 Supra engines and parts diagrams (all) revealed!

The fix is to add coolant because the factory didnt properly bleed both reservoirs. Common annoyance on most B engines. You will probably have to top it off 1 or 2 more times and then it will be fully bleed
  11. A90 Supra engines and parts diagrams (all) revealed!

Soo, I'm a Toyota sales manager, and have worked for my dealership for 24 years (Yes I regret not buying that Blue 30th anniversary edition Supra we had on the showroom in 1997). We just traded a 2017 BMW 540i, with 6200 miles only. Of course it has the B58. It's a rocketship, I've always loved...
  12. If not the New Supra, then what?

Only low optioned cars in silver, black and red, go for $67-77k. Most nicer cars are now $80-95k. My car has all the GT2 bits, and makes 600whp, plenty of fun for the street! I do my own maintenance, no issues other then a coolant temp sensor for $29 and about 2hrs of my time. Oil changes...
  13. Toyota: New Supra Was Mostly Developed In Japan; Won't Be Cheap

Do people expect the supra to be better than the past? Well, yeah.. Their partnership with BMW is suppose to "cut cost." If they are building the supra on cheap (similar to the Ft86/BRZ) and charging $$$, who is profiting more? The customer who bought the Supra right? HAHAHA Delusional. Their...
  14. New Toyota Supra will reportedly launch at Geneva Motor Show (per Auto Express)

Looks like Toyota is already making some announcements ahead of Geneva, I must say although its boring the changes to the CVT and improved thermal efficiency are impressive.
