  1. Smoking from exhaust

I guess because how much F'ing around do you want in your life? Every trip to the dealer is a pita not only with regards to risk but also disruption to your daily life. We all know what it is and the risk in almost zero. Phil
  2. Smoking from exhaust

Lol and if it isn’t? ? the way he’s doing is fine since extended warranty gonna cover it
  3. Smoking from exhaust

Why don't you make a deal with the stupid dealer. Get them to remove the oil pump and if it's not broken then you will pay for a new updated pump which is a good idea anyway. If they find it broken then it's a Toyota warranty claim. The more the dealer works on it the greater the risk. When...
  4. Smoking from exhaust

Yeah it is what it is. I just don’t want to be that guy that tells them what needs to be replaced. I’m trusting the process
  5. Smoking from exhaust

They’re really milking that extended warranty. Just change the damn oil pump and be done with it. -RJm
  6. Smoking from exhaust

...still didn’t fix issue. They say next step is the oil control valve which of course isn’t under factory powertrain but luckily I have an extended that’s covering the level sensor and hopefully the oil control valve. Really hope the next step after the control valve is just to replace the oil...
  7. Cannot measure oil

Well, selecting the correct sensor would probably help in diagnosing the issue. FML Pulled the correct sensor and it is about 3/4 of a quart overfilled. Guess the sensor is good. ? Confirms the pump. I didn't want to spend the money on a pump if it was still good.
  8. Whistle/high pitched howling sound after engine switch off

I admit that this is louder than I expected, but smartphone cameras have a way of wildly distorting the apparent volume. What would help is a video in the engine bay. Get the phone close to the grey plastic cover on the side of the throttlebody. Then try to point the phone down lower underneath...
  9. Cannot measure oil

My guess… you are now 1.5L overfilled hence why the sensor reading did not change. You also need an oil pump (unrelated to overfilling). I would drain the oil and measure what comes out, then go from there. Edit: make sure you’re pulling the correct sensor value; there are apparently multiple...
  10. Cannot measure oil

...-Idle oil pressure is like 39-42 psi. 2k RPM it was around 55-60psi(just brought up RPM on idle). Not sure if this is a sign of the oil pump failure or if the pressure is higher due to running a thicker oil and if MHD has any changes on their oil pressure tables. - Car is bolt on and OTS...
  11. 2025: DI vs PI

The supplier. There's alot more conscientiousness within the ranks at Dorch generally speaking, and instead of simply buying a product and rushing it to market with the "if big company make product, product good" approach, they take part in the design and do extensive testing themselves...
  12. 2025: DI vs PI

I've had cam walk issues on and off, but almost always in 5th as well. The last revision that bumped up my oil pressure even more seemed to have fixed it. (13) What's causing my tune to break up in 5th gear? | SupraMKV - 2020+ Toyota Supra Forum (A90 MKV Generation) The solution for cam walk...
  13. Smoking from exhaust

Except of course the more times the dealer works on the car the more likelihood of them messing something up. Isn't there any BMW SB or Tech notice to support the high OP and inability to read qty is a failed oil pump

  15. Smoking from exhaust

I had the EXACT same issues as you. High oil pressure code & unable to measure the oil level means the oil pump is failing as others have said. That being said, I got my oil pump changed and replaced. No more high oil pressure, BUT the smoke on stop lights exactly like yours still occurs. I...
  16. Smoking from exhaust

thats BS lol. They can easily test the oil level sensor. If no issue oil pump. They're just throwing parts at it. Lucky its covered at least so no complaint there. Let them give you free parts lol
  17. Smoking from exhaust

Just got a call the oil level sensor is covered. So once that’s installed and still doesn’t fix the issue I’m sure oil pump will be ordered next
  18. Smoking from exhaust

Yeah they said oil pump would be covered but before they jump straight to oil pump they need the do the smaller stuff first (oil change and oil level sensor) to rule them out. Advisor said he will call my extended warranty shortly to see if level sensor is covered.
  19. I have a FBO Supra and want more power.

I checked each one on those links. They all take me to the same thread. Do you have more examples to get to my goal of "about 500-600 whp on stock trans and 93 pump gas. What would I need to reach my power goal? Im looking at Pure turbos and would like recommendations. " That thread is shit as...
