  1. Coolant pump failure at 17k miles, 2023 3.0 PremiumAT

Hey all, Just wanted some feedback on what you'd do in my situation. My coolant pump/water pump failed earlier this week. Noticed my radiator fans blowing harder than usual and then a day after my AC stopped working. Brought it to the dealer and after a few days they diagnosed the coolant pump...
  2. New (and old) SupraMKV members say hello!

Good looking car! I had a Toyota *^ and then a Miata ND before my Supra (2025, black, manual).
  3. New (and old) SupraMKV members say hello!

Took home this 2021 GR Supra 3.0 Premium! Sitting in storage waiting for winter to end. Been keeping an eye out specifically for a Turbulence grey, and immediately jumped on this one- Came from a 2020 Subaru BRZ Sport-tech RS, acting as a placeholder with the Supra always having been the goal!
  4. 2020 plastic oil pump

...in Largo. Did a flawless job on both instances I needed something fixed (the other being a broken window actuator), and in the case of the oil pump they even let me inspect the undercarriage and engine bay + showed me the damaged pieces of the old pump before finalizing to ensure I was happy...
  5. 2020 plastic oil pump

I'm in the exact same position. We were going to swap the oil pump and check and refresh rod bearings. But now thinking we may as well just build the engine and get a bigger turbo
  6. 2020 plastic oil pump

Which 3rd party shop did you use to replace your oil pump? I'm also in the Tampa Bay with a 2020. 52K no issues so far. Want to know just in case.
  7. 2020 plastic oil pump

So even people with super early 21s don’t have the other bolts. Seems like this is more of a 2 port vs 6 port thing. Not a you have a plastic oil pump thing.
  8. 2020 plastic oil pump

2020 MY z4 m40i. US spec for us only came with 6 port. 10.9 bolts, still had plastic oil pump. Pump never “failed” but it wouldn’t maintain oil pressure target once it hit certain temps on track. Used 30, 40 and 50 weight oils.
  9. 2020 plastic oil pump

I'm also using the devils own 5w40 oil weight on my 2020, and have been flex fuel tuned for over 20k miles with no issues yet. Hopefully my pump was built on a lucky day.
  10. Updated oil pump?

I DIYed the oil pump job few weeks ago. Sharing the part numbers, since Toyota said they were backordered for months. BMW had them readily available. Appreciated the vid! I followed through it, with no issues. Part # Toyota BMW ZTK Oil pump (full metal upgrade) 1 15100-WAA03 11419895359...
  11. 2020 plastic oil pump

...LE (earliest of the early Supras) and also have had no issue over 70+ track days, using 5w40 forbidden fruit oil, and upped oil pressure to mid 9Xpsi at WOT (OEM is 79psi). Doesn't mean it's not going to happen. I have an upgraded oil pump ready to go but have been lazy as it's not a small job.
  12. 2020 plastic oil pump

There are plenty of 6-ports with plastic pumps. This is well-documented. It's interesting that Toyota changed the bolt grade from 8.8 to 10.9, though.
  13. 2020 plastic oil pump

There isn't any specific circumstances that cause the failures with the plastic-insides oil pumps of the earlier B58's. If you can read your oil level just fine (i.e. the i-drive oil level check completes instead of stopping half way) you're safe for now. There is literally nothing you can do to...
  14. 2020 plastic oil pump

I did not check, but I assume that bolt wouldn't change correct? I do want to say though I have seen somewhere in Reddit that the bolt is also not generally a 100% sure way to tell. Mine is a 7/20 build date, not super early but I will be changing my oil soon so I can check.
  15. 2020 plastic oil pump

that’s exactly what I mean. Someone with a super early 21 6 port that has the oil pump problem needs to post up and verify if they have the bolts or not. Mine is a 01-21 build, I have the new bolts and no issues. Do any 6 ports really have the old bolts?
  16. 2020 plastic oil pump

From what I’ve seen, every failing oil pump I’ve seen on our discord and Reddit always have the 8.8 bolt. Seems like enough of a tell sign. Although I don’t recall seeing anyone with a 2021/6 port with that issue. Maybe some early 21s but I don’t recall. Edit: everyone that gets it replaced...
  17. 2020 plastic oil pump

Eastwood is old. Give him a break. He meant oil pump for sure. also, I’m still not sure about the whole bolt thing. I personally feel that it’s more of a 2 port vs 6 port thing. I need to see evidence of an early 6 port with those bolts, which I haven’t seen yet.
