..."track" option with larger front brakes (374mm front rotors and larger caliper) and aux oil cooler which has a different oil filter housing, oilpump and, of course, an external heat exchanger style oil cooler under the car like the full fat M cars.
Ironically, the Supra, which is better...
update : as of today we installed all the fuel upgrades I am extremely excited to be able to data log and post data , for people wanting to know how installation was , HPFP and injectors were very easy you just need the right tools for injectors but took less than 30 mins for injectors I also...
when you put a pump in, normally you have the flow through the input/layshafts, and oil squirting into gear mesh through holes in forks, shafts, sometimes even in the root of the gear tooth
well, that's how we design them at work and it works well.
Yeah it may be the same pump as in the G80 M3 since it's essentially the same base box (GS6-5XX), if that's the case it's for the gearbox's dry sump system which is very rare in manual boxes, helps significantly with keeping temps uniform inside (such as hard cornering and a shaft doesnt get...
They show it as having an actual pump as opposed to the classic 'guided splash-lube' system we're used to in manual gearboxes. However, what pressure said pump can generate and how the oil is distributed are unknowns.
Think it's totally fair and reasonable IMO to keep the thread open it still shared some interesting stuff and prompted me to "check the checker" from the Toyota website and have peace of mind :headbang::respect:
Yeap, Toyota called me back and said nothing outstanding either. Mine had a brake something recall done in 2021. She hadn't heard of the oil\vacuum pump recall or any related issues. Close the thread :)
Measure with a scantool rather than iDrive. You get to see a real sensor value instead of an estimate. Also the warning in iDrive does not come on until you are about 1.5 liters down, ~78mm on the sensor readout.
Oilpump was failing causing oil pressure to be low during oil measurement tests. If anyone else has these issues just know your oilpump is failing.
Toyota replaced my oilpump under warranty and now I can measure my oil level whenever I want which is nice.
My oil consumption test “passed”...
For sale is my 2021 Supra w/10,xxx on it and counting. The car is fully unlock on ecutek it’s an early 2021 model and ecu is pre 6/20. Only reason I’m selling it is because I’m pulling the trigger on a m4 comp. Oh yea no liens on the car I own it flat out. Clean & clear title.

Thicker oil isn’t a band-aid. Its a permanent solution. If the car runs better with thicker oil why not switch to it? Its not a bad thing like people make it out to be.

Make sure they change both these parts, insist on it. Would suck to go back and start again because the sensor is bad too.

Maybe I am a bot but I don't see anything that refers to an actual technical bulletin number where bmw/toyota are replacing these under warranty for people only threads of somebody dropping off the car and expecting the dealer to fix it based on x conditions.
really not sure why people are not...
Here is a post referring to a TSB

I don’t get why some Supra owners aren’t bothered by the consumption and instead just band aid fix it with thicker oil…
I was consuming oil with 0w-20, I don't anymore
Does anyone with access to TIS know if something has been posted for this? - A bulletin will take me a long way in just getting a free pump since I won't go to the dealer to let them just monkey on my car
