  1. Updated oil pump?

I would go through your dealer and ask for goodwill warranty coverage first. While it’s a very small percentage that are failing there are enough that Toyota knows there’s at least a small issue going on. There’s also the fact that BMW subsequently replaced the plastic piece with metal which...
  2. Updated oil pump?

Hey all. unfortunately my problem with the oil pump just started, I’m 1.5 months out of the 5 year 60k mile warranty. FML My car has barely 20k miles. It’s not gonna be cheap I know. Does anyone know a place in the Bay Area that is not a dealer that can replace the pump? The dealer is gonna be...
  3. SUPRA DIFF BRACE

They have had that since the inception of the GT4 Supra. The additional cooling on the Evo2 is an inline "chillcooler" in the charge pipe:
  4. Oil Pump Control Valve before Oil Pump Warranty?

This is more or less what I did, as I was NOT willing to make multiple visits for their techs to "diagnose and try things" before they finally offer to replace the pump itself. I paid high at around 1800, but quite frankly it was a fantastic shop and every other shop in a 20 mile radius either...
  5. Oil Pump Control Valve before Oil Pump Warranty?

Thanks a lot man, I’m trying a different dealer next week
  6. Updated oil pump?

...tests they performed on my car, they went as far as to lie about the data that they claimed to have found. They also insisted it wasn't an oil pump issue, but a software issue. I just think they didn't want to work on my car. I have left a Google review for that dealership here. I've also...
  7. Oil Pump Control Valve before Oil Pump Warranty?

When the time comes to get my oil pump replaced, I'm taking it to an independent BMW shop. Although, 1400 with tax isn't bad at all to replace with parts/labor.
  8. Oil Pump Control Valve before Oil Pump Warranty?

Take it to another dealership and try again, don't mention you visited another dealer prior. I got my Oil pump replaced under powertrain no questions asked. They saw the oil pressure was inconsistent and authorized replacement. ( I have a thread posted about my process and experience) Took me...
  9. Oil Pump Control Valve before Oil Pump Warranty?

I have a 2021 and am having the issue with oil level not measuring, which everyone says is likely a failing fuel pump in the forums. Toyota says they’ll only replace fuel pump under warranty after trying to replace oil pressure control valve first, but that’s no longer under warranty. Anybody...
  10. Oil pump tsb?

I guess that's hard to say but it isn't a totally comfortable situation. Apart from the extra power to drive the pump there could also be issues with the pumps drive longevity. Things aren't necessarily designed to work at maximum output permanently. I think if I had an affected car and not...
  11. Oil pump tsb?

So how long can we technically "live with" the default high pressure scenario before it becomes detrimental to the engine? Until the CEL comes on? Not being able to measure the oil is annoying but not scary since I haven't burned or lost any oil in my 5 years of ownership and do religious oil...
  12. Oil Pump

Yikes! Thanks for the codes. Dealer this morning won’t do anything because no codes. And my warranty expires in 2 months. FML. Thanks
  13. Oil pump tsb?

Nice tack to take. I used that when I uploaded a failure video to the complaint site. Told them I paid $94 for diagnostics and the failure mode was not fixed. Let’s see. Thanks for the pro tip!
  14. Oil pump tsb?

Then tell them to fix the issue of it not reading oil level. If he won’t jump to replacing oil pump. He can’t just ignore the oil level reading not functioning. Take it to another dealer lol. Shit tech right there. even tho the other Supra tech at the other dealers may be the same
  15. Oil pump tsb?

The pump has a failure mode that defaults to high pressure, not no pressure so the odds are in your favor.
  16. Oil pump tsb?

Interesting. I’ve tried mine from cold start after short drives. Doesn’t matter - at least for me. But I’ll try that. Thanks! yea, it’s going back tomorrow. We’ll see what they say
  17. Oil Pump

for me it was an "1C0101 engine oil pressure regulation" code for a long time, then simply "1C2001 oil pump" when the CEL came on. 2021, 35K miles. failing to read is almost always an indicator that your pump is in the early stages of failure. Could go a year like mine did before actually...
  18. Oil Pump

Any information on the code it throws? Mines not gone yet, just failing to complete read. 7/20 build also, only 25K miles
  19. Oil pump tsb?

I wouldn't be relying on that assumption for the the continued viability of the engine. A check of the engine oil pressure scheduling would be a wise precaution. Phil
  20. Oil pump tsb?

...cold start and idle for 5-10 minutes and as SOON AS the "measure oil level" was selectable, I measured oil. It works for me, I dunno why, but if I drive anywhere longer than 10 minutes it doesn't allow me to measure oil. Weird, but I think potentially a software bug rather than a failing oil...
